A lovely place for anyone looking to tour colleges or visit students in the area! We stayed the week of Independence Day to tour Harvard nearby and everything was just right. Staff were attentive and very friendly, and Irving House just has so much charm and character oozing from it. Its age is definitely evident, but the house pretty much has all of the amenities you really need. Breakfast was tasty and the portions were perfect! The room we stayed in (queen with two bunks) was perfect for my party of 3. My only (future) concern is that if traveling with larger groups/young children I’d definitely have to be a bit more conscious with the noise I make– it’s very very quiet and you could sometimes hear everything going on in the hallways or even talking from other rooms. Otherwise, everything else was great! I will definitely recommend Irving House to family or friends looking to stay in the Cambridge area in the future. Thanks for everything!

I was in Boston taking a family member to the emergency room and ended up needing to stay overnight. Irving House had a lovely B&B room (with bathroom) at a reasonable rate compared to everywhere else. The house is quiet, easy going with friendly staff. The girls were so kind when I checked in late, completely frazzled and exhausted. My room was small, comfortable and incredibly clean. Breakfast was cooked in house (egg bites DELICIOUS) and fresh coffee. Especially appreciated the safe parking

I was looking for a room for two nights near Harvard and this is as close as I could get. Just a block from Harvard Yard and the room was bright and airy. Service was excellent. Breakfast was simple “continental”, but enough to give a good start of the day. Everything was good except I found some stains on the bedsheets. Perhaps the biggest issue was the price: I could have got a double at Marriott Copley with change! But since my primary consideration was location, this was the best option available!

Quaint inn in nice location to Harvard. But I’m not racing back. No a/c on the fourth floor made our night rough. And the bed was just too soft. I know that can happen and I’m not picky but it was lacking. At one point I thought someone walked into our room but it was the folks next door. Minimalist bathroom. Staff are friendly of course but we advise looking elsewhere.

I was looking for a simple place to stay for two nights near Harvard, and you cannot get any closer than this quaint bed and breakfast. Service was excellent. Upon check in we were happy to take any room, but the front desk insisted to show us the options, and I’m so glad and grateful that she did! Our room was bright, airy, well appointed, with a nice bathroom. Everything was great except the sheets had some light stains on them, not the end of the world. Breakfast was “continental”, but a good way to start the day. My only problem was the price, which really wasn’t cheap and I could have got a double at Marriott Copley with change, but since location was my key consideration, this was the best option available.

This is an older kind of travel. A true bed and breakfast with shared bathrooms and shared lounge spaces where you can mingle with other guests. There is something quaint and nice about this. You almost immediately feel like you are at a friend's home or staying with family... Maybe second cousins. It's close to Harvard square and on a beautiful street that is nice and quiet. There are some turkeys in the neighborhood, but that's always to be expected in the Boston metro area it seems.

My husband and I stayed here for Boston Marathon weekend. It was in a quieter part of the city, which was nice for an introvert like me. Bring steps away from Harvard's campus is really cool as well! Getting to downtown Boston is simple using the 1 Bus. The rooms themselves have a cozy, B&B feel to them, but don't be expecting the newest amenities; the charms of this place lie in knowing what it is and delivering in that. And breakfast being included is super nice!

Don’t expect anything fancy but it’s charming and has so much character. The people are very sweet. They have postcards and other little details they give away for free like handkerchiefs and luggage tags. I was super pleased with the place. It felt really personal and peaceful. It’s also within walking distance of the Harvard campus. The only thing that’s a little annoying about the place is the very small parking area but it’s still such a nice feature to have parking available and included in the area. Overall loved my time here.

this skatepark is so spacious and so much fun. there’s so many different ramps and areas to skate. the skaters are usually pretty friendly and give you space to do your thing. the scenery is so beautiful, especially when the sun starts to go down.
