Nice spot for train watching. Take the kids for an adventure. There's a train car you can go on but not inside when I was there. Still cool to watch trains go by.
Plenty of parking.
Across from the police station. Seemed safe.
Would have liked a little more info as to the history but was a good stop.
Nice place to sit near city hall and chill, read on phone and listened to trains
My fiancée and I just moved to Irondale and we love this little caboose that they decorate for holidays. The train watching platform on the other side of the tracks is a super cute spot to eat and there is a very informative sign about the history of racism and lynching in Alabama. We walked over there to look at the Christmas lights the other night and had such a great time!
IF you are an avid rail fan this place is for you. Busy and active place, and you are up close to it. If you are not into trains, don’t waste your time.
Excellent spot for watching trains. I recently visited here twice in the evening. There was not a very big delay in between trains. There's a very nice viewing platform. You're actually pretty close to the trains as they pass. I would highly recommend visiting here if you're a train lover or have little ones who love trains.
If you love train’s this is a great place to be. There’s even shelter for inclement weather.
Great place to railfan, especially in the morning, tons of good things pass by like Amtrak, Heritage Units, and Leasers.
It's very quiet when there are no trains. This place could be amazing. The trains come by pretty slowly so you get a pretty good view of them.

Without denigrating anyone and above all an apology but the truth is that it is the best taco stand in all of Birmingham and its surroundings. Ah, I recommend that you try this one. Place I guarantee that they will be good at
This Home Depot may be smaller than some but it is very well staffed with friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable people. The employees were willing to stop, answer questions, and even take me to the item I was looking for. Very pleasant experience.
Back in 1983 there was a Sneaky Pete's place a few hundred yards from the high school I attended. The highschool cafeteria was like a Turkish prison but not nearly as nice.
So, without permission,, I would stroll to Sneaky Pete's most days at lunch.
great food! paid $15 for an 8 pc boneless wing meal with a giant portion of coleslaw that filled just about half my to-go box. they give you the bang for your buck, one meal could feed 2 people depending on what you get.
