Iris Inn & Cabins - Featured Reviews (315)
The cabin was absolutely perfect and provided a quiet, cozy, romantic stay for us. The location and view are pure beauty. The breakfast meals were delicious. Kelly and Cathie were phenomenal and made our stay exceptional! We plan to make this an annual anniversary getaway!
My husband and i just wanted a quick (3-day) getaway in shenandoah where we could take our golden doodle. Iris Inn was perfect. We stayed in one of the dog-friendly cottages. The accomodations were very comfortable, roomy and in the midst of the natural beauty of the mountains. You can sit in comfy chairs by an outdoor fire pit and watch the sunset on a panoramic view. Dinner was fabulous and service very personalized. The complementary breakfast was thoughtfully prepared and different each day. Kathy and Kelly were gracious hosts who routinely checked to see if we needed anything. You are close to Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline drive so there are many places in the vicinity to hike and then come back to the hot tub. It was a thoroughly enjoyable couple of days and we are already thinking of when we can return. -Rita
I recently stayed at the Iris Inn, specifically in the Hawks Nest Cottage. The room was immaculate, smelled amazing (aroma 360 Dream on scent) and was well stocked with complimentary items as well as special ordered items. The private hot tub was new, clean and touch screen operated with LED lighting options. The staff was incredibly kind and professional making all interactions very pleasant. Happy hour in the main in provided some top quality cocktails. The breakfast was top-notch as well. Before I left the property, I was already planning which cabin I'd like to stay in next to get a slightly different experience! Thank you Iris Inn
I chose this property based on the reviews on this site. We would not normally choose this type of property, but I decided to try something different for this portion of our trip. We rented two rooms for 3 nights. Both rooms were nice; ours in particular was very nice. Nicely decorated and the bed was very comfortable. Based on the previous reviews, we had really high expectations for the breakfast and the overall experience. The first morning, the breakfast was not much more than what you would get at a Hampton Inn. Each morning it did progressively get better. However, in a B&B experience, we prefer to have the breakfast served to us versus buffet style like it is at the chain hotels. One huge negative for us was the lack of personal customer interaction. We did have a very nice pleasant lady that greeted us upon arrival and who very nicely asked us if we would like a welcome beverage. Those 3 drinks were on my VISA immediately. The dinners that are served onsite are served in this very small breakfast room. For the prices that are being charged for this intimate dinner service, we would expect a much nicer atmosphere that would match more accordingly with the fine dining prices being charged. The property itself is very nice, but we felt it lacked personal attention that one would normally receive at such a small B&B property. Every morning during breakfast we saw a well dressed female walk in and went in to the office area. We found it odd that this person that appeared to be owner or management never stopped and offered any conversation with the guests. It just seemed to us to be more about the business profit margin versus the personalized guest experience.
We decided to try the Iris Inn for a brief getaway from DC. We brought our goldendoodle along on this trip. It was a great escape. Kathy is so friendly and helpful to us on arrival. We stayed in a cabin. Everything was top notch - clean, inviting, quiet and private. The area is so beautiful. Sunset view of the Shenandoah Valley and driving on the Blue Ridge parkway was inspiring. Many choices of trails for hiking. Great dinner at Green Leaf Grill and beautiful scene for outdoor burgers and beer at the Blue Mountain Brewery. We hope to come again soon.
My husband and I stayed here two nights for our anniversary and when we booked with the anniversary package, they upgraded us from an inn room to one of the cottages. The staff was SO helpful, kind and informative and we had everything we needed. The food (both breakfast and dinner) were amazing and the rooms were spotless. The inn is so quiet and tranquil. We had heard great things from friends and family and so glad to experience it ourselves. Will definitely have to come back in the future!
I couldn't wait to write this review!!! I always tell my wife that birthdays are special. I planned my birthday trip a few months in advance. I didn't know what to expect but the customer care I received via email and phone conversation put all of my concerns at ease. We were also celebrating our engagement anniversary. My wife asked where we were going and I didn't spill the beans! It was a simple 2 1/2 hour drive from our residence to Iris Inn. Once we arrived, we were greeted by Cathie! She and all the staff members were matchless in how they took care of us! Always smiling and asking if we needed anything. This was before we even went into the beautiful and spacious cabin! We made a few friends that were equally amazed by the kindness and care of the staff! We entered the cabin and my wife's eyes lit up! Absolutely beautiful!!! We will be back perhaps for a Fall trip to see the leaves turn. Thank you so much Iris Inn! Bravo!!!
My husband of 24 hours and I stayed here as a "mini moon" on our way back home from our wedding and this establishment exceeded our expectations! Beautiful room (Hawks Nest), amazing hot tub, excellent dinner and a sunset that takes your breath away! We will certainly be back in the future!
The hotel's fire alarm went off at 10:30 p.m. and all hotel guests had to vacate the property and stand outside, many in their pajamas, in sub freezing temperatures and high winds. After approximately 15-20 minutes guests realized there was no fire

I have reviewed the east side, now for the west. This side is way more of a workout getting to and from the tunnel. More of a woodland trail where you eventually make your way to the black fence and tunnel, but with a lot of ups and downs. The tunnel
This fine establishment is a must go to when in the Waynesboro area!! Located right down town- street parking was available, but there are several parking lots close by as well. The decor is amazing! Every table is different! They use super cute vint
Holy cow, what a find. This is going to be our favorite place to go in Waynesboro and a far radius beyond. The fried oysters were big, juicy, and very delicious. The sauce that came with them was the perfect compliment. The wilted spinach was the
