It's an old fraternity house on the edge of campustown, very well fixed up to provide a quality boutique hotel stay. Bed was comfy, room was of a reasonable size, very clean, TV &wifi worked well, powerful shower, hearty breakfast cooked fresh, nice lounge and TV/games room. Lots of parking. Fab stay when visiting ISU. Only catch: only a few rooms available, so book early esp around graduation! Highly recommended.
Loved our stay here, lots of charm and character. Check out the chapter room in the basement, you'll feel like you're back in college. Breakfast is great and there is a well-stocked 24/7 snack bar with hot coffee.
Charming old place, room was better than expected. Good location, quiet and relaxing. Can’t really judge service as self check in all details emailed to you. Didn’t interact with anyone from the business at all. Could not fault the place.
We stayed at the Iowa House for a college reunion of 16 people, many of them couples. It was a perfect setting with large living room to gather. Breakfast was great each morning.
Iowa House has a GREAT location. The ambience is so quaint . The rooms are clean and each is unique. . You can walk to almost building on campus. We always love to stay here but book early as it fills up quickly for home game days & graduation. |Its a great spot for friends meeting. There is an outdoor fire pit and of course common areas where everyone can hang out.
My husband and I stayed here for two nights and enjoyed our stay immensely. Inside and outside, Iowa House is incredibly charming, welcoming, and homey. The service was wonderful and the location right off campus was hard to beat. I would recommend this highly to anyone looking for a place to stay in Ames, Iowa.
My daughter and I loved this place. Very clean, beds were comfy as well. I am 6 feet tall, and my bed had a footboard that my feet hit, but I made it work. We definitely will stay again.
Lovely place from the pics=2 stars! They do not return inquiry calls. Only thing I can determine from non response is- make your reservations 6 months to year in advance.
