For those of us who are major tennis fans for years, this is a must see if you’re in the area. Starting with the 50 yr anniversary of WTA, and the walk through the champions over the years, the stories are well written and insightful. The grounds themselves are lovely all on their own in such a historic setting. It was raining or we might have even tried to get a court, it’s for the public too!
We just happened to drive by, while in Newport RI. As a tennis fan it was awesome to be able to tour the grounds.
Very fun and a lot bigger than expected. You can go play on the grass or clay courts and to a very interesting and fun tour. Great place to kill some time at.
This is a must visit if you are a tennis fan and know the history of the game. Grounds are free to visit, and no reservation is required, but if you want to visit the museum, then the ticket is required. I really wish that museum has it own paid parking because it is a major inconvenience to look for the parking around this area. Person at the front desk of museum who is very welcoming if you decide to visit the museum. There is a small gift shop to buy souvenirs at the entrance.
A friend came to town who is a tennis instructor from Texas. He couldn't believe that RI had the International Tennis Hall of Fame. We had such an amazing time. So much to see along with so much history. Wasn't crowded at all and the employees were so friendly. Wish we had gone a little earlier. We were there for two hours and we really could have used maybe another hour. But I highly recommend it.
What a fun find, just walked in and watched a room of matches, great seating and a very cool vibe.
How do you review a hollowed institution? Let’s go for it. First of all it has a great location on a busy strip. Second of all the staff is exceptional. Special shout out to Julie, the volunteer Director, who answered all of our questions and even gave us helpful restaurant recommendations. Finally, the museum itself is beautiful without being too gaudy. You get the information you need in a concise and interesting manner. If you get a chance, go in the summer whenever their tennis tournament is going on. The vibe is incredible.

Fun visit, our first. They rotate the display every 90 days according to the knowledgeable staff. It is about a 2 hour ride from our house, so we will go and check out the museum a couple of times a year.
