IOT has given me the opportunity to have a career in where I can help the community and still have enough time to spend with my family and my other career as I’m a Reservist in the United States Air Force. The school helped me choose and get in a job position that I wanted! A year after I graduated I went back because I needed help with my resume, I loved the job I was placed in when I graduated but, it was a small practice and I was ready to move on to bigger things. Angela Gil helped me update my resume and together we looked at places where I could send my resume. The staff offered to send me other sites that they had but I already knew where I wanted to go! That’s the job I have now. On the day of my appointment with Angela I was greeted by Dr. Ley, I was fortunate enough to have him as my Professional Development teacher, because that was the last class he thought as he was promoted to Director of staff, (might be a different title), anyways I was happy to see him. He took his time to talk to me about my career goals and gave me some feedback and ideas! I’m so happy I decided to enroll in this school they are truly there for me when I need them. Couldn’t have done it without IOT and the staff.

I have got to IOT for almost 15 months for the criminology program, next week is my last week. I would recommend this school to my friends, between the staff and students it is an amazing environment. I have grown as a person and in my knowledge at this school. It is very hands on and getting you ready for the career path you are going on. When you are going through some of the toughest time they will accommodate and help you as much as possible. Laura is someone I have talked to a lot. She is the person when you going through something and just need to talk she will listen. She also gives the best advice. She even helped me figure out a schedule to fit homework in when I was working 2 jobs, going to school, and personal stuff.

I am very happy to say this was one of the best decisions I made, although I was not so sure about what I wanted to do this was a great place to start. The staff made everything very simple and I always felt I had their support when it came to financial questions or just questions in general. I was part of the MBOA program and now that I am actually in the field I love what I do. I couldn’t have done it without my instructor, she was there for every step of the way, motivated me to do my best and pushed me because she knew I could do it. Even after I completed my course the school continues to support their students whether it comes to update resumes or look for jobs.

I was a student in the vocational nursing program in 2020. We had a lot of challenges because of Covid but the school and the teachers made every effort to help us. It was the middle of our second term when we got a new theory instructor Autumn. Even though we were her first class she worked with us to help us through our hard times. She was always there when we asked for help. She pushed us to do our best. Though she was strict she was kind hearted and didn’t want to see everyone left behind. I was working during this time I would get around two ours if sleep sometimes. Even through I was tired and drained I pushed through. Cathy was out DON at the time and she knew some of my life issues I was facing while in school. Cathy and Autumn keep encouraging me and pushing me to stay on tract. I would recommend this program to everyone who would want to pursue nursing.

Had a very good experience at IOT’s LVN program. The instructors were efficient and provided us with all the tools I needed to succeed. The program will require you to be flexible at times, just like nursing will. Studying is not an option if you want to succeed. Kathy, the DON, has a zero tolerance for any drama or disrespect. Sad that needs to be monitored for adults but necessary for some. If you put your head down and put in the work and time you will succeed. Autumn was my favorite instructor bringing lots of her nursing experience and knowledge to the classroom. She had very realistic expectations for us as students and future nurses. They set the standard high and will hold you to that. And you should set the standard high for yourself as well as you enter the nursing world.

I don’t think there’s enough words to express my gratitude for the registrar Maria Valdez. She was very helpful and amazing during my student days here and continues to be so. She goes above and beyond for her students. She supported me through my educational journey and eventually became my mentor. She will assist me with transcripts and other needs with no questions or complains. She stopped what she was doing to listen to my concerns and answer my questions as best as she could. Her dedication and support made a huge difference and a positive impact in my experience as a student. I’ve graduated from IOT and I can still count on her to be there unconditionally. I attended IOT and graduated from the Culinary program there and I had a great experience. From the instructors, to the office staff in the front, and other students, everyone was very friendly, helpful, and supportive throughout my whole time there. Although they had just recently ended the Diploma program, I had some great instructors including Chef Andrea who was just recently hired while I was attending so I was in her first class and I learned so much from her it will be something I’ll always remember. Other staff and instructors that were very knowledgeable along the way were Chef V, Chef Julio, Chef Maria, Chef Mike, and also Tracy Stewart from the career center helped me find multiple jobs and helped me land my externship and I’ve been working in the culinary industry ever since 5 years into it

Chef Jen is the sweetest instructor ever. She is very helpful and gives you the freedom to express yourself with your creativity. If there is some material you don’t understand she allows you to try again and redo it so that you can perfect your craft. From my experience all of the chef instructors were very supportive and understanding.
