Highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for something affordable and clean in a great location! Everything was within walking distance, front desk staff were friendly, and rooms were clean! We booked the Double Room Upper Floors and it was overlooking the pool area. There was an issue with the drain in the bathtub but we notified the front desk and it was taken care of right away. Coffee/Tea provided in the lobby. Overall a really great stay!
We booked a small block of rooms here for our wedding on 9/29/23 and it was perfect. Anne Marie & Cassandra were amazing to work with, kept us updated on our group block and then even booked my husband & I in the sand dollar suite at a discounted rate. The room was HUGE which was perfect for our groomsmen to get ready in. The decor is modern, the bed is comfortable, had a decent size outdoor space, and great amenities. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and attentive. I feel like its hard to find good customer service nowadays but everyone here was awesome. Highly recommend staying if you're in La Jolla.
Where to start with this lovely hotel smack in the middle of La Jolla. The Inn by the Sea is centered around everything you will want to see in La Jolla. Within walking distance of beaches, swimming with the seals, kayaking through hidden caves, boating, the most fabulous restaurants, and nightly entertainment. The views of the water and sunsets from your balcony are stunning. The comfort and cleanliness of this hotel is truly beyond anything we have come across in La Jolla, and we have stayed at some of the "very best" according to trip reviews. Housekeeping staff you do an AMAZING job of keeping the hotel looking beautiful and clean. The pool area is not only incredibly clean, but very welcoming with all the loungers with lovely seaside pillows, the pool is heated to a very comfortable setting. The complimentary coffee room is such a nice added luxury; with multiple types of coffees, teas and hot drinks, along with some light snacks that you can purchase. From the check-in to the check-out every single person employed at this hotel was kind, friendly, courteous, respectful and knowledgeable about the area and things to see and do. The rooms are done perfectly with an oversized mini refrigerator, coffee, ironing board, balcony table and chairs, and toiletries. The beds and pillows are VERY COMFORTABLE, along with the lovely sheets and bedspread. My husband and I can't say enough about this wonderful hotel which is managed to perfection. We will be forever customers, now that we know you are in existence. Thank you, for being a Diamond amongst the other gems in La Jolla. Elaine & Lee M
I reserved a room block this October for my wedding and highly recommend Inn by the Sea to all brides!
Anne Marie, the sales manager, was wonderful to work with and I can easily say the room block process was my most painless part of wedding planning. Communication with Anna Marie throughout our 8 month reservation process was excellent, timely, and detailed. Aside from being very good at her job, Anne Marie is just a very sweet person and always left me feeling at ease.
Most of our wedding guests traveled from out of town so we had 46 rooms reserved in our block. They loved the area and they had no shortage of activities to keep themselves busy all weekend. Aside from a few small things, leaky toilet and a loud AC in two guest rooms, our guest had an amazing stay. You have to pay for parking but the free is small and definitely worth it considering the other parking options in La Jolla. There’s isn’t a bar or restaurant connected and the lobby is somewhat small, but there are many bars an restaurants within walking distance so I didn’t feel affected by these things.
Our groomsmen got ready in one of the larger handicap rooms on the second floor and loved it. They had plenty of room to hang and watch football as well as relax on the large balcony.
The bridesmaids and I got ready in the Sand Dollar Suite (see photos,) which is also where the groom and I stayed the whole weekend.
The space is very large and bright and we easily fit our 7 bridesmaids, bride, 2 moms, and 3 makeup artists. There is also a sizeable patio connected with retractable awnings for coverage.
I can’t say enough good things about this place!
I recently took my daughter here to celebrate her 16th birthday, and we stayed at this hotel. From check in to check out 10 stars if I could. We had an ocean view, a balcony, top floor and the most comfortable beds. We slept 10 hours a night. Walking distance to shops, restaurants, water, perfect location. Plenty of parking in the back and customer service is top notch. We will be back.
My second time in this hotel and it was again a pleasant experience (7 years after the first one). I like their environmental policy (cleaning rooms only every other day). They keep having an arrangement with a close gym to use it free (which is great) and, this time, I had my room facing the ocean which was very nice for the sunset. The staff was friendly too. I normally don’t have breakfast at hotels, so I didn’t miss they do not have a restaurant (apparently, you can order breakfast too to be delivered to your room from a close by restaurant)
I don’t think I’ve left two reviews for a place before, but here we are. We got married in 2019 and over 75% of our wedding party stayed here (I think we had 40 rooms blocked). When it came down to it, the customer service we received from Anne Marie was what made us decide to choose this place over the other hotels. When our guests arrived, we had people coming up to us each day raving about how friendly the staff was. The location speaks for itself, as it is right in the heart of La Jolla village close to so many restaurants, shops, bars…you name it, you can find it here and don’t need a rental car. Fast forward 4 years and we have decided to stay again, and just like 2019, we have been welcomed with open arms. Thank you Anne Marie and thanks Jose at the front desk, and everyone at the front desk actually has been wonderful. We are so appreciative of you all going the extra mile to make us feel welcomed!
Affordable and a good location for visiting La Jolla. You just step out and go up the block and you're at the start of the busy part of La Jolla with all the shops and restaurants. The shoreline with all the sea lions isn't far away either. I would definitely stay here again.
