Inn at the River - Bed & breakfast in Wausau - 2625 Northwestern Ave, USA

A beautiful place. Very quiet. We put our kayaks in the river that meanders by the property and enjoyed a scenic paddle up the river and a pleasant float back to the house. They will provide kayaks if you don't bring your own.||Comfortable room with a lovely view of the wildflowers and potted plants in the backyard. Enjoyed the chocolates and a sip of the Port we found in our room.||We enjoyed chatting with our hosts over breakfast. They were happy to share places to see and things to do at our final destination in Northern Michigan, and the recommendations were spot on! ||We hope to return the next time we are in the area.

My husband and I stayed in the River Suite and found it to be a perfect fit for us as we needed to stay in the area for 7 nights. I loved having two spacious rooms with a wonderful balcony off the bedroom to allow us time to relax and look at the beautiful scenery full of trees, flowers, birds, and river. All of the breakfasts were delicious and the hospitality Margaret and Dan provided made for a pleasurable stay. Highly recommend!

The room was so comfortable - loved the fireplace! The river views, the lovely 3 season porch, and the kayaks on the river were all awesome. And the FOOD! All homemade. local. so delish. We loved eating breakfast on the deck outside watching the birds and gazing at the river. Incredibly relaxing. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful peaceful location. We were able to spend some time outside and enjoy the views, birds and gardens. Room was clean comfortable. Hosts were friendly and we had a nice visit over morning coffee and a tasty breakfast! Highly recommend a visit!

My wife Tina and I had booked this Inn as simply the last stop on a trip to the U.P. and through Wisconsin. We hadn't expected it to be a HIGHLIGHT of our trip! Dan and Margaret are awesome hosts. Their door greeter Theodore is extremely friendly and courteous! Margaret's breakfasts are top tier, delicious gourmet fare but with a homie feel. We enjoyed our own little campfire down by the river right in their backyard! The Willow Room is gorgeously decorated, very private and comfortable.The entire experience was 5 star, top-notch and we will DEFINITELY be staying there again. Peaceful & beautiful! My husband and I enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was delicious and gluten free was provided with no fuss. The grounds are beautiful, the inn was beautiful and comfortable and clean!! The hosts are engaging and friendly. We can’t wait to go back. Our room was quiet and private.

The room was so comfortable - the bed, the shower... and we loved the fireplace! The home was clean and classy. Obviously intentionally designed for a cozy bed and breakfast. The river views, the lovely 3 season porch, and the kayaks free to use on the river were all awesome. But our favorite was the FOOD! All homemade. local. so delish. We loved having breakfast outside on the deck, watching the birds and gazing at the river. I also have to say the hosts were amazing. The went above and beyond for us. We will back!
