Simply a heavenly place to stay, a genuinely, carefully preserved property in Old Louisville. Assisted by her two friendly dogs, Pat the owner and genial, generous host was engaging and helpful. ||Our bedroom was spacious and in keeping with the character of the house. It was clean and comfortable with tv and good wifi. The shower room was generously stocked with towels and toiletries.Breakfast was served on the terrace with a delightful view of the St James Court fountain. ||The location is convenient for downtown, Churchill Downs and a couple of good local restaurants (for a special treat, 610 Magnolia is excellent).
If you're going to Louisville, stay here. It is a beautiful place that has been featured on cover of books and magazines. Each room is beautifully decorated and very comfortable with all the modern touches you would enjoy. Pat, the host, is fabulous. Every place she recommended was perfect. Each morning, the breakfast was delicious. ||The location was very close to all of the attractions of the Louisville area, while being located in the midst of beautiful homes. We enjoyed walks through the neighborhood in the evenings.||Staying at the Inn at St. James Court made our trip extra special.
Nice neighborhood, very nicely decorated 3 bedroom bed & breakfast. The owner, Pat, is super nice and helpful. The rooms were very clean and nicely decorated. Bathrooms are very nice and well stocked. You can come and go as you please once you arrive. Street parking is limited, but she has spaces available in the back alley. Very "old school" architecture. Not far from downtown. Breakfast was nice... although it is not "buffet style" as I have encountered at most B&B's. Hopefully you like what she makes. Only about 2 miles from Churchill Downs - you can walk there in about 45 min. Her two dogs are very friendly.
What an amazing experience! Nestled on the most scenic street in Old Louisville, this old stone home is an absolute treasure (see photos). The level of upkeep and renovation of this spectacular old house is remarkable. Patricia’s attention to every detail made our stay a memorable experience that we will look back fondly upon for the rest of our lives. Highly recommended!
We have stayed 3 time at St. James Inn B&B, in 2 different suites. Both were well appointed and comfortable. The Innkeeper was very nice and accommodating. My husband has food allergies and she always takes that into consideration when fixing breakfast.
Located in the poshest neighborhood in the city, just minutes from most major attractions, this stunning Victorian mansion, with just a handful of guest rooms, is lovingly maintained by proprietor Pat M, who is super helpful, and whose cooked to order breakfasts are creative (cooked-to-order Dutch Baby with lemon curd and berries) and filling enough to keep you going for hours. ||Rooms are spacious and decorated in true Louisville style with amenities you didn't know you needed, like shaving foam, and a drawer full of sweet snacks. Like dogs? Two well-behaved pups serve as official greeters, and are happy to join you on the front porch or the rear garden patio. ||In relation to other nearby accommodations, room rates are reasonable, especially given the up close views of the iconic Old Louisville fountain. Truly 5-star.
Our stay at the Inn at Saint James Court was our first foray into the world of Bed and Breakfasts. Pat, her dog , Pal, and cat, Coal have set the bar high! The house is very old yet very comfortable and pictures cannot do it justice. Pat made us feel like she was so happy to have us stay with her and she made awesome breakfasts. The area begs to be walked and be sure not to miss The Old Louisville Tavern...a five minute walk away. Our stay was fun, comfortable and memorable and although we are home now...wishing we were still there with the family at St. James Court!!!
My wife and I had a lovely four night stay at The Inn at St. James Court. We rarely get to travel but there were some specific items drawing us to Louisville. We needed a home base from which to conduct our adventures. Somewhere near enough to the main areas so that we could walk rather than drive as much as possible, but not a Name Brand Hotel (read: sterile and businesslike). The Inn was perfect. We loved the beautiful location and building from the first second we pulled up. The hostess, Pat, was warm and attentive, striking a wonderful balance between being a fast friend with the best directions and suggestions for local eats and sights, but not at all intrusive. While one of our planned stops was a very specific restaurant for which we had advanced reservations, all of our other dinners and lunches ended up being at places she had recommended, and all were wonderful. For our breakfasts, Pat worked around our scheduling needs and provided delightful, filling, and fun meals. As we are pet lovers, Pat’s B & B home atmosphere had extra delights in the form of her sweet dogs and lovey cat. We definitely recommend The Inn at St. James Court, and intend to make it a repeat destination!
Allen warmly greeted us at the door, immediately creating a welcoming atmosphere. The mansion itself is stunning, and every aspect of our stay was carefully considered. Each space is not only inviting but also well-appointed and spotless. We chose th
Beautiful home on an amazing street filled with historic houses, close to amazing places to eat dinner. The rooms are gigantic and full of character. If you need a place to stay in Louisville look no further than DuPont!
A family obligation brought my partner and me to Louisville during the snowiest part of January, but because we had the great fortune to stay at Tucker House, what might have been an ordeal turned out to be a wonderful, magical experience that neithe
