There is good and not so good. In regard to air in the room, there is a ceiling fan and 2 stand-ups, but air circulation is tough on a warm day. The other observations: peeling paint in the main room and bathroom, toilet seat was old and stained (with the screw that holds the toilet 3” long and a total hazard if you step on it). The good: it was clean for the most part and front office staff was very nice. But at $350 a night, you expect a lot more, even in the Santa Barbara area. Parking is $15/day which wasn’t bad. The hotel did respond back to my review very quickly so I have revised to be fair to their key comments, which I do appreciate.

Friendly staff. Clean, comfortable & spacious rooms. Bed large and slept well. We stayed in an upstairs room that allowed us to open two windows on either side and let a breeze through. There is no Aircon provided. Coffee and pastries provided complimentary in the morning. Free parking on the street outside, plenty available. Walking distance to a beautiful beach. A few restaurants, shops and taco van in walking distance. Recommend and would stay again.

This review is from the tail end of June 2024. I was really hesitant about staying at this hotel because of the lack of air conditioning, but after comparing the prices and location, decided to give it a try. It surprised me how much I liked it. The room has a beach feel to it, and the open air windows just add to that feeling. You know how some hotels just look and feel the same old same old? Not Inns at East Beach. It’s bright, airy, and unafraid to stand out and be different. I love the room decor with hues of light blue and green, and how every room has a window facing outside (even the bathrooms). They actually serve a light continental breakfast but don’t mention it on their website. And oh, as for the AC, we didn’t need it. SB stayed below 80 and the sea breeze makes it cold at night, so we kept the windows closed and turned the fan to low. We didn’t even use the fan very much. Location wise it’s a short walk to the beach and to a small organic market nearby. Love the vibe overall.||They don’t provide shampoo/conditioner, only shower gel and lotion. Breakfast consists of packaged danish and croissants, coffee and tea, oatmeal, and cutie oranges. There’s a microwave oven in the small breakfast area with a couple of tables, plastic forks and spoons etc. We microwaved our dinner leftovers and had them for breakfast there. Don’t pay for parking unless you can’t find one nearby. Wi-Fi is spotty.

Decent, budget friendly place to stay near the beach. I always stay in the balcony room, which is nice but also kind of annoying because smokers always stand out in front of the hotel so if you have your windows or the door open, smoke always comes in and then you worry about the hotel charging you smoking fee. Somewhat remodeled, but a little rough around the edges, though understandable for the price point. Walls are a little thin, but also understandable given it is an older but refreshed motel. Have a great variety of snacks, tea, and coffee in the lobby. Also have cable TV with some Premier movie channels. Mattress could be a little more comfortable, but bedding is new and plush. Curtains in the room were very dusty, which was gross, but other than that appreciate the cute mid mod style of this hotel. Wish the pool stayed open longer. I will likely come back for an overnighter at some point.

The Staff is very professional and accomodating, but there must be better options in this area. I stayed in a room with a kitchenette. There is no air conditioning. My main window was missing an entire screen. The windows themselves were very hard to open. The key given did not lock the top deadbolt lock to the room. I took a drink of water out of one of the glasses provided and there was brown stuff floating in it. The outlet in the kitchen was coming out of the wall. My vanity had two differerent faucets and no sink stopper. What's going on here....

**Edit** AVOID at all costs. Reached out to hotel management because I got a response on this review with their intent to work with me on this. He was NOT willing to work with me and did NOT issue a refund. He said that because I posted my original review, he would not honor a refund. His reasoning was "we held the room for you on a busy weekend" and "you already booked your other hotel room after you were told you weren't getting a refund." This is a lie. He did not have his story straight and tried to gaslight me. When I checked in, I took one look at the room and went to the front desk to ask if I left early, if I could get a refund. She said she needed to check then let me know within a few minutes that I would not be charged for the second night and to let her know ASAP. I called a few hours later to confirm with her that I was planning on checking out early so I would take her up on the refund. She then said "Oh, my mistake. You won't be getting a refund." I booked my other hotel *because* she told me earlier I would be getting a refund so I was stuck. Complete scam. My issue with the room was quality vs. what I paid for. Quality is lower than Motel 6. The room and WiFi was so opposite to what they advertise that I wanted to checked out early - there was no other reason. Literally any other hotel would understand this and try to remedy but this hotel cat-fishes you with altered photos and "free WiFi" and uses abstract policies (that are not documented anywhere for you to reference) as an excuse to not work with you and to keep people's money. They're keeping my money. I guess they really need it to keep this con going. Original review: NOT worth the price and honestly feels like a scam. At almost $300/night you get no air conditioning (come on it’s 2024) and WiFi that’s barely working (disconnecting and 1-2Mbps). When I brought it up to the front desk, their response was “unfortunately SB has an internet monopoly and it doesn’t work well anywhere when it’s a busy weekend.” This is joke. Anywhere else we went with WiFi worked just fine. This hotel limits or doesn’t want to invest in their WiFi for customers and charge them an arm and leg anyway. The rooms are poorly kept. I’ve added photos of what our room looked like. I feel like we got completely cat fished so posting these photos for everyone to see before they book. Because there is no air conditioning, you have no choice but to open your windows and hear everything that’s going on outside: people walking right in front of your room windows, car alarms going off, etc. We were booked to be there for 2 nights but ended up checking out a day early because it was hot and not comfortable. They still charged me and I did not get a refund for anything. While I understand “policy”, if your accommodations are not up to par and people keep reviewing as such, it begins to feel like this place is intentionally scamming people. Just know what you’re getting into. If you want a place near the beach to crash in the evening, it’ll work. But if you need to get ready for a wedding at 3pm in your room, be prepared to sweat while doing so. To the hotel - fix your WiFi and update your rooms/facilities to be worth $300/night. What a horrible experience.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! I cannot believe this property has decent reviews. We booked 4 nights here. The minute we walked into our room we knew it had severe mold. Not only was the musty smell unbearable, but because I'm sensitive to mycotoxins, my body alerted me as well. My eyes immediately started watering, I got a headache, and was sneezing. The receptionist at the front desk was very nice and didn't remotely act surprised when I came back to complain about the mold. She said, "yes, I know what you mean" and explained they also don't have AC which contributes to the problem being so close to the coast. We left and paid double last minute at another hotel in the West Beach area. The manager would not fully refund me and charged me for one night despite all this which I'm disgusted by. Yes, it's very affordable compared to other nearby motels and that should have alerted me that something was wrong here! Just pay a little more and stay elsewhere. PS- I lived in Santa Barbara for 5 years and have stayed at most all these smaller hotels in East + West beach. They are ALL better than this one including Motel 6.

The best F45 I've been to. Class was packed with almost 50 members. All the coaches, specifically Coach Katrina, found time to motivate and challenge me through one of the best workouts I've had in months.
