The location is beautiful, as is the exterior and Bobby of the hotel. Food- The food was very average or even bad, not a lot of options for breakfast, and the cups for drinks look like those you’d give a toddler due to their size. I opted for breakfast elsewhere when I realized what they had to offer. Location- if you’re really into history or coming to visit a loved one that’s studying at a nearby college the location is perfect. It is right in front of the Culinary Institute of America, which also has a lot of delicious restaurants, and there are a lot of historical sites you can visit nearby. Room- the room was okay, wasn’t the best or worst I’ve seen but having a small kitchen was nice (except for the lack of a dish sponge or drying rack, did provide dish soap though). The sofa bed was far from comfortable was very tough to get a good nights sleep. Cleanliness and service- during the whole stay whenever we asked for a service like a general room cleaning or for housekeeping to make the beds multiple reminders had to be given throughout days because they forgot? It was very frustrating to come back to a room you asked to be cleaned only to ask the same the next day and be met with the same room yet again. They claim they clean every three days but the one time they did “clean” they only replaced towels and made the bed in the room. They left the sofa bed undone (and no sheet change) and they did not clean any surface. Makes you wonder how well the room is cleaned between guests.
Wonderful hotel in a beautiful location. I was born and raised in the area and come back often to visit family and friends. This newly opened hotel is a great addition to the Hudson Valley. Rooms were spacious and well decorated. Bed was comfy and having a kitchenette area was a nice touch. Lobby was stunning with high ceilings and unique indoor fireplace. Outdoor firepit was wonderful to sit at and was open fairly late. The complementary breakfast was tasty and had plenty of options. My only real complaint was that the lights in the bathroom are on motion sensors and after sitting too long, the lights start turning off after 30 seconds, you can wave your hand but it only gets you an additional 30 seconds. I assume you would need to actually toggle the switch to get more than 30 seconds at a time. This also holds true when in the shower (out of the motion sensors reach). I found myself constantly waving at the sensor while in the shower to keep the lights on. The lights behind the mirror didn't seem to be on this schedule, but the overhead lights and exhaust fan were. Unfortunately there was no way to override this timer either. I would definitely stay here again, but I do hope they change the settings on these bathroom motion sensors before any future stays. This would easily be a 5 star review if not for the motion sensor.
Lovely hotel, new or newly renovated, clean and attractive. Room was well designed with kitchen, sleeping and sitting areas that made the room feel larger than it was. Convenient to Culinary Institute, FDR residence/museum, Val-Kill and other sites.||Staff were friendly and helpful. Included breakfast had plenty of choices and was well presented and tasty. Free EV charging was definitely a plus.||Only negatives were no pool and housekeeping was every other day. Not a huge deal, but less than one expects at Marriott brands. Otherwise I would rate 5 stars
My best friend and I were up visiting the CIA campus and the she went to visit a friend while I visited the Vassar Museum and campus.||After our day of touring, we spent the night at the Inn and it was wonderful. I was surprised to find that this was a Marriott hotel so we had the pleasure of the Marriott beds. I have never slept so well and so deeply. I was so relaxed after a long day. My sleep was so comfortable.||The room was really nice with a seating area, a small kitchenette and a nice sized bathroom. The view of the woods was very pretty. The location was perfect, right across from the CIA and Marist.||The breakfast was complimentary with the stay and was delicious. The had eggs, waffles, yogurt with fruit, all sorts of cereals and bread, potatoes and the very good little cheese soufflés. I was impressed by the selection. Guests were hungry as the assortment turned over quickly. The only problem and this is with hotels across the country, they close at 9:30am. This is when people start to wake up and want to eat. It should close an hour later.||Overall we enjoyed our stay and we will be returning in the future. It was a really nice room.
Stayed here for 1 night. Very convenient to visit the FDR home, museum & library. Directly across busy Rte.9 from the Culinary Institute of America. It is a newly opened Residence Inn. Our room was an entire suite-living room, fully stocked kitchenette, bedroom & bathroom. 2 large screen TV’s. Very clean; super comfy bed; room safe, microwave, stove, full fridge. Inviting lobby/ dining/bar area where the included breakfast was served. Breakfast was waffle make, oatmeal, eggs, sausage, baked goods, fresh fruit. The breakfast serving staff was “on it” in terms of keeping everything clean snd resupplied. I would think this would be a great place for business meetings/ small conferences especially with the restaurants at the Culinary Institute of America right across the road.
Fantastic experience! The hotel looks and feel matched with the city's character. The designs are tastefully done and not like a typical branded hotel. Kids loved the morning breakfast. The rooms were spacious and clean. Overall 👍
A Platinum lifetime Marriott member so have stayed at quite a few hotels over the years. This is one of the nicest I have ever been. It is only a few months old and the place is immaculate. It also has a very nice lobby with the food being above average. It also is a great location being only 5 minutes from FDR museum and Vanderbilt Mansion. Highly recommend
this hotel was really great. clean and well during and maintained throughout. friendly staff. the kitchens in the rooms are great. full fridge cooktop and utensils if you’re interested in staying in for meals. there’s also a laundry and nice fitness center on premise. breakfast was good. the bar was fun and friendly. it’s right across the street from the culinary institute so make sure you try that for dinner one night:
