In-Shape Family Fitness - Gym in Sacramento - 1349 Florin Rd, USA

This has got to be one of the worst locations I’ve been to. I usually don’t go to this gym because I’m not from this area but I have no choice. The employees are rude as hell. They never greet you when you walk in , at least they never greet me. I understand if the front desk is busy and I don’t expect to be greeted under those circumstances but it’s the fact that this place is never really busy . the moment I walk in the employees are just talking with each other and I like saying hi , I always say hi but I was completely ignored and completely ignored when I left. So if employees are wondering why they get complaints from customers it’s most likely due to their own attitude. This place also smells like piss and sweat. Considering the place is never busy the employees could be spending that time cleaning and seeing what needs to be done. Please don’t hire employees who aren’t going to do their job and ignore the customers. It’s disrespectful and annoying as hell. The employees at this location are lazy and have an attitude and I hope they know the impact that they have on customers. If I were anyone I would avoid this place at all costs.

Place is a cold and uncaring business. Do yourself a favor and join Crunch gym that charges less than 1/8th what this cash grab place is charging without family fitness’s ridiculous down payments, and is giving the first month free right now. Not to mention Crunch gym values Integrity unlike this California Family Fitness. The machines are always dirty, as hardly anyone wipes them after use and the workers at the gym stay at the front on their phones all day. This doesn’t seem like the type of people I like to do business with. I prefer human decency and cleanliness in business operations. Especially Gyms. Not to mention this gym is ridiculously overcharging thinking they are as good as a 24 hour fitness. Even that corporatized gym is significantly better than this Family Fitness. ***I am only putting 4 stars since memberships can be pricy! The gym, however, is very clean and well organized! I had a personal training session with Omar and it was extremely uplifting. I am overweight and had done research on my own on how much weight I absolutely HAD to lose, but Omar explained to me how the amount I found was the total amount of fat I had and if I lost all of it my body wouldn’t be able to function. He explained what body fat percentage meant and how it worked very simply and was very patient in explaining himself. I also had a question about discus or shotput rings in the area and he recommended “Scottish Highland Games” in Modesto! He explained how to do certain stretches, deadlifts, triceps extensions, and squats with correct form and explained what specifically I had been doing wrong. Omar was very kind, encouraging, and friendly and I would 100% recommend at least trying out personal training here if you have the opportunity!

I enjoy the environment at this location. For the most part it is never packed out and I am able to use the equipment when it’s needed. Never had one time where someone needed to ask me how many reps I had left. There is enough equipment and space to get in and get out with my workout. Great Job Team Pocket*

When I first signed up the persons helping say there is a deal going don’t have to pay the first month. But as soon as I signed what do you know took a first month payment instantly. Then when my one year was up instead of encouraging me to stay with either keeping the same price for month to month they raised it to 99.99 wow talk about keeping a customer shoot it should atleast drop a few bucks right. But if they are hurting for money that bad. They don’t need my business. Also did not even notify me to resign or not just pulled money out my account until I noticed it to call them.

The yoga class Sunday morning is the best way to start me up. Just the right combination of relaxation and exertion. Instructor Jill's attitude is kind and encouraging, never critical. She also has a wonderful sense of humor and is clearly competent and truly wants to be there.

Joined Cal Fit after years at 24 Hour. Such a huge difference! I go almost every day now! There are so many fun classes to take, plenty of equipment to choose from and the locker rooms are so clean and nice! Wish I had made the change a long time ago. Cal Fit is such a great deal for all the options I get at all the different clubs.

This gym is GREAT! The staff in the front like Phoenix and Jenny are the best at welcoming everyone in and making them feel like home. The facilities are kept clean and the equipment is always squared away with a good culture of people actually putting back the weights they use. Come back here every time I’m in town
