Imperial Motel - Featured Reviews (153)
Stayed here April 8-9. Room was incredibly noisy, not from adjacent rooms but rather the roads. The motel is conveniently located squarely between two very busy intersections. Trucks and cars that stomp on the gas pedal were all readily heard as though the window was open. Police and fire sirens were also prominent. The internet service was very poor (slow, and errors) for 10 minutes, and then totally failed. There were a total of 4 cars in the parking lot overnight, with many more rooms occupied by people who appear to live there - who hang around outside their rooms, smoking and talking. The room itself was decent, but there is no way I would ever consider staying here again.
I am a disabled veteran and have a service dog. If your not aware service dogs are allowed in any business I'm allowed in even a motel that does not accept dogs. I checked into hotel for a few nights. After the first night the owner came beating on the door telling me to check out. I explained to him I was a disabled vet with a service dog to assist me with my disability and by law my dog is allowed in any place I'm allowed in and this man did not care. He forced me out even knowing the situation and he then tried to keep my 50$ security deposit he charged upon check in. The only reason why I was able to retain that was because I just flat out refused to leave the property until he gave it up...The owner is not from here and his actions towards me reflected that.
I was wary of staying here but after a long hellish day at work, I decided to come here because it was raining. Owner very nice. Room clean and the hotel appears to be remodeled and so nicely done. It used to look so run down before and scary. I can’t believe the change from before COVID. Don’t need “visitors”. Owner is trying to keep out drug traffic and people should be happy about this. Used to be a scary place before. It’s safer now and I felt ok staying here. Before, I didn’t even like to drive by it! Much better and I bet the town is glad these owners cleaned it up and don’t want riff raff!
Took a photo copy of my credit card! I questioned it and the very nice guy tried to explain it was ‘necessary’. Definitely NOT necessary.Obviously, I canceled my card. The room smelled like someone dumped a bottle of cologne/perfume. Very overwhelming smell. It was clean, bathroom was clean. I loved to ceiling heater in bathroom. Outside of building in need of sprucing up. I will not go back
The first thing I noticed, after reading the reviews, was that they appeared to have slapped a fresh coat of paint on the exterior, so that it looked less down-at-the-heels than I expected, though the parking lot is still a bit scary. The room was a bit dated, but it was spacious and quite comfortable, and everything worked, including the wi-fi. No breakfast, but I knew that going in. We had a very pleasant one-night stay there.||||The only real downer is that this was the second room we were given. The first one had a strong odor of gas, probably from the in-room heater. The manager on duty promptly and cheerfully gave us a different room, which was appreciated, but the gas odor was strong enough that it makes me a bit uneasy about the place. Also, when I checked out, the front desk clerk was not wearing a mask in spite of the signs stating the customers were required to.
We stopped here for one night to break up a drive south. We did not have reservations. The check in person was very friendly and the paperwork was completed quickly. The room and bathroom were spotless, the beds comfy, and the hotel quiet overnight. The bathroom had soap, shampoo and hand cream; no conditioner supplied. The room had a fridge, TV with a zillion stations, wifi, no coffee maker that I saw. The location is central and we were able to walk to an excellent restaurant for dinner. In the morning it was easy to find a place for coffee and a bakery for some scones! Do not be put off by the outside of this motel. It is excellent value and we will be staying here again!
Having grown up in Cortland, I remember this motel as having a reputation and not a good one. However the recent reviews seemed good and it was a much better deal than the chains so I went for it and had no regrets. The room was clean, surprisingly modern, and the bed was very comfortable. And now Cortland has a cool coffee shop called Bru so being able to walk to there was a big plus Would definitely stay again!
It's old on the outside. Fresh paint, newer carpet on the inside. The bathrooms appear to have had a facelift recently. |Fridge and microwave in the room.|Extremely clean and the bed was very comfortable. The glamour it lacks on the outside is made up on the inside. I wouldn't think twice about staying here again!|The front desk was super friendly!
Service is excellent. Employees know their menu, which makes making drinks super fast. Coffee (cold and hot) as well as tea are made to your liking. We were happily surprised with service and taste of our drinks. We stopped two days in a row for the

The food and nostalgia were great! You walk in, sit down, and use the phone at ypur table to place your order. I had a footlong coney dog, onion rings, and a diet rootbeer. It was so good that I forgot to take a picture!
