Imperial Inn - Motel in Oakland - 490 W MacArthur Blvd, USA

The location is fine, the place was pretty quiet other than the loud AC noise. Bed and pillows were fine, I slept alright, but I would definitely not stay here again. This place was lousy. The air conditioner made this loud buzzing sound on and off, impossible to use at night. There is no smoke alarm, is that even legal? Wifi worked intermittently, coffee pot but no coffee! Dirty rug and towel, some kind of mold or something above the shower. The shower water was either too cold or too hot, nothing in between.

If I could leave zero stars I would. We arrived after our concert around 11pm to find the beds have obviously been slept in. There was dirt and goat head stickers in the sheets. It took over 20 minutes to receive the new bedding we requested & they only brought us a single sheet. Morning comes and a staff member walked into our room unannounced without knocking to see my 16 year old brother changing. I brought my complaint to the owner whos response was “you shouldve locked your door”. Very unpleasant stay & we will never be back again.

Positive: The staff working seemed to care, were responsive when I had a minor issue. Pree parking actually felt pretty lit up, and somewhat safe in a rough area. I've read complaints about noise at night, we found the evening quiet and restful. Negative: Pillows aren't comfortable. Stiff and too thick. The area isn't great.

Very disappointing stay. The room was drab, worn and filled with unnecessary, tired furniture. The heater was unpleasant to use. The wifi was not working and the staff were no help with this. On the positive side, the bed was comfortable and the location is good as a base to explore Oakland and Berkeley or get Bart into San Francisco.

Positive: Surprisingly Quaint little place. Very little contact, not enough to rate the staff but they were pleasant upon check in. Bed was comfortable and there were nice pillows as well. Felt secure. Negative: Tv was small for size of room and location of bed. Bathroom was remodeled except they didn't do a professional job and the flaws are evident. The bathroom was very small. No luxury here and our room was old but clean. For a budget price you have a parking spot, decent bed (soft side), good couch, coffeemaker and AC/heat. Convenience store and burgers spot in short walking distance. BART station is 8 minutes walk. Perfect for a touch and go.

Would have been nice if beds we’re clean. Room looked good. Bed looks comfortable, but when pulled covers back. Looks like same sheets someone slept in and multiple long hair on bottom sheet. When asked for clean sheets, I was told didn’t have any. Then given second room. Second room was worse. This time found what looked like fresh blood stains on mattress protector. Kindly asked for refund. Then young woman who says she is general manager became sassy and said, “ you pay for what you get. Its only $100. Try marriot down street and pay a $150.” My response, “or just provide clean room
