Illinois Beach Hotel - Hotel in Zion - 100 Lake Front Dr, USA

Location is amazing… right on a clean peaceful beach. There’s multiple patios and sitting areas over looking the water. The grassy area leading up to the beach could use some landscaping as there’s some sticker patches but overall the area is great if you like being outside- lots to do. The room was clean except the towels seemed old and bathroom needed towel hooks. The food and drinks at their restaurant on a Friday evening were fresh & good.

The hotel is in a very good location and is a quiet place to spend the day at the lake, but the service was somewhat disappointing since they do not clean the rooms during the stay, nor do they take out the trash or change the sheets when booking. We did not realize that breakfast is not included but that they only cook on weekends is something that greatly affects the visit. The pool in our visit was under renovation so we could not appreciate it. I hope you take these points as a constructive criticism so that You can have more performance in your hotel. Thank you

Illinois Beach Hotel surpassed my expectations with the huge king suite including a large jacuzzi tub and shower. There was also a nice sized mini fridge and microwave. The view was beautiful, and we loved walking along the beach and sitting on the balcony. Breakfast at Nolan’s was delicious. We were there the same night a prom was being held, but we couldn’t hear a thing. I could tell the students were all having a lot of fun! It seemed like a great venue. We loved our time there and can’t wait to visit again!

My family had 5 rooms reserved. One of the rooms had water leaking from the roof onto the air conditioner unit. Their "Beach view" was the roof. My room had not been swept or mopped, bathroom was not clean, there was no cell service, phone in room did not work. They were booked and could not move any of us to another room. Staff was not knowledgeable, seemed unconcerned. We were advised it was a new take over. Pool was not open. No breakfast available at location. NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE AT ALL. DO NOT RECOMMEND....

Sorry to say our experience was awful. We found out the restaurant & pool were not accessible. OK, we could only come on the 17th. However, our room had closet doors that were inoperable, the bathtub/shower was covered with some dark hairs? Not clean. The patio was dirty with bird waste. The entrance was difficult to get to safely due to so much truck traffic. We did not know that, and sand & gravel pits were in operation. The beach was very difficult to get to on the property because it was not close and there were several stairs to get down & up on which I could not do to disabilities. Really disappointed. Our first date years ago was there, and it was great.

We came here with a group for a weekend. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and newly renovated. Location is great, you’re a short walk from your room to the beach. The downside was they had minimal staff and they don’t seem to take out the garbage on the entire premises. The whole weekend, there was piled up garbage downstairs near the patio and there was human feces on the men’s bathroom floor from at least Friday until Sunday that was not cleaned up. This place could be amazing if they put in some extra work and hired 5-10 more employees to maintain things. They are renovating the basement and we accidentally took a wrong turn down there which was slightly creepy. Overall, a great and inexpensive weekend but definitely a work in progress.

I can’t rate the rooms, but can rate the location and service. The location is pretty, but there is still renovation work being done. Our complaint comes after driving 4 hours, we called and were told check in was at 3. We arrived at 1pm and requested early check in, which they don’t offer and were told to come back at 3. We were okay with this and killed time on the beach. However, when we went back at 3 the lady who told us we could check in at 3 said she did not tell us 3, that check in was 4. We reiterated to her that she told us we could check in at 3pm and repeated her words to us verbatim. She finally admitted she did tell us 3. Check-in time is 4pm. We were frustrated with the lack of communication and lying, so requested a refund and drove to another nearby hotel. Quite honestly with the restaurant hours being odd, there being construction, and lack of service…my husband and I are happy to drive the extra 20 minutes from our new and very wonderful hotel to go park on the beach and enjoy the day tomorrow!

Let's get one thing straight, the private 24hr beach is worth it if nothing else. A beach bumb or nature enthusiast would love a visit here. The hotel itself is nice on the surface but something just isn't right about this place. I never leave negitive reviews but I could go on and on about this place. The staff was mediocre. They need someone to maintain the landscape. The restaurant didn't open once and the front desk tenant "didn't know how to open the gift shop." They do not take out your trash or seem to have room service during your stay. They don't change sheets or offer many towels in the bathrooms. I also didn't see any information about spare toiletries. The staff just doesn't seem to care at all and I felt very unwelcome. The pool was closed for renovations and the common areas were quite boring. DO NOT GO IN THE WATER IF YOU CAN'T SWIM. There is NO LIFEGUARD on duty. I stayed in rooms #301 and #207 301 - The bathroom was beautiful and the view of the lake was good, for the price it needed to be. There were ants on the end tables and spiderwebs on the balcony. Our family couldn't take our luggage off the cart because we didn't want the bugs getting in. Thankfully we didn't see anything in the bed. The microwave was dirty and the air in the room was stuffy. The suite was beautiful but the little things made it uncomfortable. 207 - Definitely had a bad vibe. The room itself was a little small and would be cramped for any more than 2 people. While in there I heard someone scream in almost an echo sound "get out." I also heard other supernatural - feeling screams/sounds that made me rather sleep in the . In the hallways I felt as if someone was following me, no one was there. I had weird dreams while on the property and kept seeing things in the corner of my eye, just to turn and nothing was there. Upon further research there have been multiple deaths on the property and I'm not the only one to hear/see unusual and chilling anomolies. I would go back for the beach but the hotel could definitely do better. I understand the supernatural element isn't exactly their fault but the service still needs improvement. Be safe at night if you do stay here.
