Ike's Kitchen - Japanese restaurant in Roanoke - Lamplighter Mall Shopping Center, 5524 Williamson Rd, USA

Great food and quality service. Once our orders were taken it didn't take long for our food to come out, there were quite a good amount of people coming in too. The atmosphere it pretty good, but could use a little renovation. The only complaint is that I didn't get any water at the end while we were waiting for the check. They got me their spicy house blend for my Ramen, very flavorful and overall a place I would return for a bite!

I was in the area & decided to stop by for lunch after remembering they had just reopened. When I arrived a few mins before opening there were already people waiting at the door, and a steady stream of people kept arriving after they opened their doors. The lone server, bless her soul, did really well at navigating how busy it was. I ordered the tempura shrimp appetizer along with the tonkotsu ramen. The appetizer (which could’ve been a meal alone) was supposed to come with 3 shrimp, but I only received 2. No biggie. It was delicious. The ramen was underwhelming. I expected it to be like the tonkotsu ramen from Sticks & Spoons, but it wasn’t very flavorful and the ramen to broth ratio was disappointing (too much ramen, not enough broth). Not sure if it was like this because of how busy they were or if this is typical of Ike’s ramen. Either way, this doesn’t dissuade me from returning to try some of their other menu items once the hype dies down. 🙂

10/10 will most definitely eat here again! Some of the best Japanese cuisine in the area!

Ike's Kitchen was where my partner & I fell in love over the course of several Sunday dates. This was 2 years ago. It broke my heart when they shut down, but clearly they went away to come back stronger! This is the most exceptional taste experience in my entire Roanoke history. I've been to 100s of restaurants in my 11yrs in the Roanoke region. Ike's is, by far, the best culinary experience I have ever had. How anyone can think there is an asian restaurant that comes close is beyond me. I love the Tantanmen ramen so much, I have random cravings for it. I brought my father to Ike's recently. He said the food was so good, he could have cried. Before we left, we said "you know the food is exceptional when it is all you can talk about through the entire meal". The service is also remarkably swift, it's surreal! The turnaround time makes other restaurants seem a joke. The staff are professional, knowledgeable, devoted and loving. The limited hours only add to the appeal. I know of a few people who camp outside up to half an hour before to be sure they get a table at opening. This restaurant is 10/10. I don't know how you do it, but I hope you stick around forever.

My mom and I have been going to Ike's for 2 months now, we go at least once a week. The tantanmen ramen is spicy and clears your sinuses, it's definitely our favorite but we are trying to eat everything on the menu! I would also recommend: tonkotsu ramen, katsudon, yaki-soba, ebi fry set, hibachi steak (shrimp is good too), and the tempura!! You get truly good food for a good price. If you don't eat you here, you are truly missing some of the best food in Roanoke! Thank you Ike's for the wonderful food.

Absolutely delicious ramen and other goodies. The spicy ramen IS spicy. Check their social media about closures. We tried to eat here for dinner first, but they had closed and announced it on Facebook (nothing on Google). The lunch service is fast and friendly, even though the place was packed. I like the new location, and we’ll be back!

The food was good-ish, but the service was not great or even good. Our table was forgotten completely, we waited close to an hour to order entrees while every other table near us was not only ordering, but getting their food before we even ordered. Will not be recommending or returning to Ike’s.
