1st time going to an "African" restaurant.. but was not disappointed or let down in any way. I also have a new favorite drink I need to find.. we had a couple of dishes, and they were all good and plentiful.. you will be taking some home.
My family and I was here this past Sunday for my stepdaughter’s birthday dinner. This was my first time going here. Our waitress was amazing very knowledgeable about the menu and answered all of our questions. I had spring rolls as an appetizer and they were hot and flavorful, however my only gripe was that they didn’t incorporate any of the African food into their spring rolls. I ordered the Ayamasa(not sure if that’s the correct spelling) it came with rice and fried plantains. I also got a side of Jollof rice and it was very very good. Everyone had a great time. My only complaint is that a person in my party didn’t like the drink she was given the waitress told her they would take it off and she can order a different one however when the check came she was charged with both drinks. But overall everything was good. I will definitely be back for the brunch.
Service was fast but not rushed. The food tasted great and I was pleased that spicy meant spicy. I was expecting a green pepper sauce to accompany my attieke. I got a red pepper sauce on the side and a tomato based sauce. The tilapia was fantastic.
This place was everything!!!! Loved the vibe and how clean it was, first of all! Then it was my first time trying African food, particularly FuFu. So the waiter was patient and helped me pick out items that wouldn't be too spicy and I loved it.
This was our first time eating Nigerian food and it had us raving for days. If your a person that loves food with texture, spices and flavors this will serve you well. We had chicken Suya in a stew served with jollof rice. Fish served in a soup but stew with vegetables and all that goodness. The experience of eating the white ball almost like cassava with the fish is really amazing. We are going back to listen to the live music while we try something else from Africa.
Ike's offers pretty decent tasting West African meals, mainly Nigerian and Ghanaian. The peppered snails and grilled tilapia were delicious
Great authentic African food!!! The Ghanaian Jollof is my favorite. The service here is good and the food comes out hot without a long wait. I got the Efo Riro with beef and it was delicious the veggies tasted fresh and the have a nice portion of well seasoned and tender meat. My friend got the Egusi soup with Fufu which they thoroughly enjoyed also. I'll definitely be back to try more of their dishes. They also have dj that plays live music.
Wonderful, friendly service. The food and drinks were amazing and there were kids running around. I loved every moment of it. The staff was happy and friendly and seemed to be a wonderful, family owned restaurant. I will return for more pounded yam and egusi soup.
