The Candlewood Suites hotel on post at Fort Leonard Wood is probably the best hotel we've stayed in. Our first two nights, we had a delux two bedroom/two bathroom suite the size of an apartment with a separate living room, dining room and full kitchen for a very good price. It was amazing and gave plenty of room for my two sons, my parents, and my soldier-in-training son who was able to spend some time with us. The staff members we spoke to were always helpful and friendly, the breakfast was delicious with a lot of variety. We used the shuttle service for my son's graduation- that was a very helpful service. There were a number of items you could borrow to make your stay more enjoyable- board games, household items, etc. and there was a nice pantry/store by the front desk. Our third night was in a smaller room with a smaller kitchen set up, but was still very nice. I wish all hotel stays could be as pleasant as this one was. Seeing all the men and women in uniform was so nice and I have never encountered so many polite, respectful guests and visitors.

We stayed for 2 nights in this spotlessly clean hotel suite. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, the room and bathroom was extremely clean. The couch pulled out into a full/queen bed so the suite sleeps 4 easily with a door separating the living room and bedroom. The bed was very comfortable, there was a full size fridge and stove top in the room as well as a coffee maker, ironing board and hairdryer. They had free washer-dryers available on every floor. There were board games and utensils available to borrow. The hot breakfast in the morning was great! Book early, this place fills up fast. It is on base and so nice and close to the graduation location. We paid $109/night for the three of us. Worth every penny!

I stayed there by myself for my son's ait graduation. Nice little place for someone staying without a huge family. Big rooms, fridge microwave. House keeping checking in on you to make sure you don't need anything. Nice place

Hotel staff was very friendly & courteus. The hotel was nearly fully booked. But they helped us secure some extra nights that we needed, due to not being able to find a house right away. When we arrived, it was snowing a lot, the staff did a great job in cleaning & salting all the walkways. The room was clean & well taken care of. Breakfast was very good, they had an ample selection of items. We couldn't have asked for more, we will definitely stay here again.

When we walked in our room we really liked the lay out. It was just my mom and I. My soldier would be staying with us just for the day for Family day and after graduation. So it was perfect. We were disappointed to see that there are NO dishes, silverware or cooking items. When we stayed at the other location on base everything was provided so we were taken back a bit, thou this was not a deal breaker. I just wish when I made the reservations that this piece of information was given that’s all. When we woke up the following morning we discovered that the drop down ceiling (see pictures) in the living room leaked ALL NIGHT falling on my soldiers backpack I had for him. Everything inside was wet. Clothes, etc. I was so angry. These were items I brought from home for my son. CLEAN ITEMS. I called right away and the only thing at the time they could do was move my mom and I. My solider thankfully was there to assist my mom and I packing everything back up and moving the rolling cart to the OTHER building which meant we had to go outside and back inside as the buildings are not connected indoors, thank goodness it was not raining outside. It was extremely difficult even for my son to push the cart through the door way as it had a lip on it we had to lift the cart. Once in our new room, it smelled. You can tell the previous people had cooked something and the smell was still lingering. After unpacking everything again, my mom took a shower and the handle for the shower broke. After her shower it took us about 10 minutes to get the handle back on to just turn off the water. Maintenance did arrive in the afternoon due to our schedule and he fixed it right away. Every time we left the room to come back in, we could smell the odor of the food from the previous users of the room. We are hesitant in using the Holiday Inn again.||||*If my review was helpful please give me a thumbs up*

I've never complained about a hotel before, but this experience bears it. These are old army barracks and should not be used as a "hotel". As a reminder, the same rate was paid for this room as a room at an actual hotel (e.g. candlewood suites, holiday inn express). I'll reiterate a few issues:|||| ||Paper thin walls. My neighbors and my roommate (roommate? really? in a hotel?) were not loud, but I could hear everything. All conversations, tv, and "activities", even at low volume levels. I really enjoyed listening to my neighbor watch porn, and being woken up at 4 am as his roommate came in to make sure he was awake every 10 minutes and their ensuing conversations.||Sharing a bathroom. This works out great when I need to get up early to go to work. I enjoy not showering in the morning because I have a roommate and he takes 90 minutes in the bathroom. A hostel is not a hotel.||Air-conditioning. The thermostats are there just for looks, they don't do anything. It was freezing at 60 degrees. I was told by the staff to just shut it off at the circuit breaker... really? So I had a choice... freeze at 60 or sweat all night at 80.||Staff unwilling to move me. There was availability for almost all of my stay at the candlewood suites, but they refused to let me move. I would have accepted my appalling conditions had there been no other option, but there was. I would have gladly moved back and forth once or twice to have a real hotel room. One staff member, Juan, when asked if the do anything for elite members, said "I don't know." Then just left it at that. I know this would never happen off-post. Other IHG properties have always worked with me, even if I have to change rooms. Are the standards of customer care different on-base? I got a call about moving on my last day... after complaining 2 weeks prior to corporate...||Cleaning and amenities- The Warrior lodge has much lower standards for cleaning and amenities than the other properties. There is no breakfast on the weekends (Those on TDY work the weekends) and the breakfast is of a lower standard than the other properties. The cleaning is also different. The warrior lodge is cleaned much as barracks are, less often and at a minimal standard with dishes and such left untouched. My friends at the candlewood had much better service, more in line with IHG standards.||Booking and Reservations- When a large group (24 people) has a block reservation for a short period (2 weeks) all effort should be made to keep them together. Also, it would probably be best to have rank be a factor in where someone is placed. Placing a class of officers, and even a Major in barracks that were built for lower enlisted is probably not the best idea especially when a private from the same class as the major has a suite at the candlewoods (my roommate). It may not be a major issue for IHG with active soldiers, but many of the reservist officers such as myself have jobs (e.g. management consultant) where we spend 100 nights or more in hotels. We know the standards of IHG, SPG, Hilton, etc. In short, the reserve officer classes on short TDY trips should have blocks of the candlewood or holiday inn express blocked off.

The Warrior Lodge on the grounds of Fort Leonard Wood Military Base was very convenient. We flew in to the airport on the base for our sons graduation. Cab rides anyplace on base are $2.00/person. The room is very basic. The bed was a little hard but fine for 1 night. A full breakfast is included. There is a very small living room with pull out couch, chair, desk and tv as well as fridge, stove and sink.

For 11 day stay it totalled out to be $965 bucks. I asked if they had weekly or even monthly rates and they said they do not. I went off base to another hotel and they had a monthly rate of $1100 for the whole month and the hotel off base has hot water and was a way bigger room. Foster Lodge had no hot water when needed I had to let it run for 15 min to get even a touch of warm water. From my review they are too expensive and need to fix their water situation.

Can't say much about the food today, but I have eaten food from there before, and it is what I would expect. Service was great, but not the coffee I ordered. I was going to try something different for a change, but they gave me the Pike Place coffee,
