Nice family run business with island flavored ice creams. My favorite is the Coconut Haupia. They also offer banana splits, shakes, coffee, root beer floats, and shave ice. I always grab some ice cream when waiting for my dinner/lunch at the surrounding restaurants. Dessert first!!!
We have come in now a few times.
We love the shave ice on the ube Ice-cream. It's wonderful!!
My kid love a P.O.G. shave ice on top of the pineapple Ice-cream.
All the Ice-cream is locally made. It's delicious.
Most amazing food, and ice cream I've had yet in Pahoa! The staff was extremely friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable of the area, no haole treatment here! Highly recommend their Lava flavor ice cream
The best ice cream, homemade in Philipsburg along with homemade waffle cones. Can't go wrong here.
Awesome shaved ice! They have lots of different flavors for the shaved ice. The ice cream looks really good too and they have a lot of flavors for the ice cream as well.
Excellent icecream place. Had the cherry ice cream and it was very good.
We were visiting Big Island from Oahu for the 3rd time since January and decided to stop at this ice cream shop last Saturday. Ice creams were really good, I got coconut and pineapple and my two sons cookies n creme. We asked for the bathroom key AFTER getting our ice creams. The bathrooms are located outside the shop on the side of the building. First, they only provided a key for the women's bathroom and not for the men, secondly, and very classless they sent a boy, around 10yrs old to follow us all the way to the bathroom. This boy waited next to the bathroom until I came out and then proceeded to walk, in front of us, back to the shop, constantly looking back.
Really??? Why send a boy to follow us??? What are we gonna do? Take a toilet back home?? We were satisfied with the ice cream flavors and that disgusting attitude ruined the experience. Why? Because we were Latinos and not Asians? We've been living in Oahu for almost 9 years and we were NEVER been discriminated against before. We're decent people and even after experiencing that disgusting attitude we returned the key and left the place with disappointment.
A bit of a ‘hole in the wall’, but, in my opinion, that automatically takes it several notches above a cookie cutter chain… Very friendly service, generous portions, and delicious/unique ice cream.
In fact, I don’t generally consume sugar. This stop was my family’s idea, and I was prepared to abstain until I saw the Kona coffee mud pie and purple sweet potato. Where else are you going to get those flavors?! 😋

Stopped in to get a dessert to bring to a dinner party and was delighted at how cute the shop was! Small but packed with all types of beautiful looking goodies. Was tempted by the cake pops and the Tahitian lime bars, but finally decided on the lili
Beautiful little church with a rich history. There are picnic tables on the side of the church and a singular porta-potty. Thereâs a sink to wash hands but may or may not have soap. The plants and flowers are so beautiful around the church as well
Phenomenal experience.
Walking on brand new land... Feel the heat from the crevices, see the steam.
Store into the maw of Fissure 8.
Melissa is a great host, with a wealth of knowledge.
The highlight of the park.
We parked at Lava Tubes and started straight down into the crater. Our plan was to do a loop by circling back on the canyon rim trail. In retrospect, I should have parked at KÄ«lauea Iki Overlook Parking Lot, because it ha
