Hyland Hills was a gorgeous venue for us to have our wedding. We got so many compliments from people of the beautiful landscape and even the building inside. Suzanne was super easy to work with as we went through the planning process. She was very knowledgable and was able to answer all of our questions!
Highly recommend doing a big group photo of all the people you love on your wedding day as well!

Eat - ok to good to eat.
Fun ski area for the family. I've been here a bunch of times. The runs are nice. Nothing really super challenging though. The lines at the lifts can get really long, and after a while you start to feel like you are almost spending more time in line than skiing. They do try to manage the lines at least. The chalet is fine. Decent amount of seating and food options. Pricey like all skiing is these days. Overall a nice local ski area.
First off I really love Hyland. It’s a beautiful facility and they do a great job maintaining the runs and terrain park especially with this difficult winter that’s been thrown at them. But I’m shocked by the bigotry, racism, homophobia, and bullying I see in the terrain park. Tonight I helped a foreign exchange student whose binding had an issue after someone ran into her. She was stuck halfway down the hill struggling to fix it while kids mocked her for not speaking English. Another young adult was bullying my elementary school son all night trying to shake him off the tow rope. I tried to get him to focus on the nice kids he encountered, but the bullies definitely affect his feelings towards the sport.
We went here to see what in-town skiing was like. Nice chalet, reasonably priced food, large terrain park, along with rope tows and (3) 4-person lifts. Overall, we enjoyed it immensely. My only complaint is that the 3 person lift to the far left of the chalet was horribly disorganized. They had 6 different entrance points for the line and no-one knew who was next to board. At one point we had a group of 4 young girls who were less-than-assertive, and so we sat there for almost 20 minutes waiting while everyone else in the other lines went right on by. After that I figured out how to demand my spot. But it still is dependant on the people in front of you. They need to limit it to 2 main lines, with a singles line that can join on the side. And speed the lift up a little bit. It felt extremely slow. Especially when compared to other chairlifts that we have seen at the other ski hills we have visited this year. Definitely would go here again!
Hyland's an awesome place, and has the best terrain parks in the Midwest no question. The normal runs aren't large or incredible by any means but they are fun for beginners. The other nice thing is that they don't require buying tickets online or filling out long, useless lift ticket waivers. I love that I can just walk up to the window, toss them some cash, and get a ticket and go ride immediately. HOWEVER, I have one complaint. I remember being there last year, teaching my kid brother how to snowboard on the bunny hill. I had taken my board off so I could walk along next to him and help hold him up. While I was doing this, though, some crabby employee (seemed like a manager of some sort) came over to me and rudely told me I couldn't be on the hill unless my board was on my feet. Having my board on made it so much more difficult to teach snowboarding, and it kind of ruined the day that this happened. I understand that they don't want people walking all over the hill and getting in the way, but this was seriously stupid and I'm mad about it to this day. Great place overall though, just watch out for those grumpy employees.
The best wedding day and venue I could have asked for. The team at Hyland was amazing, attentive, and fun. 10/10 recommend!!
A wonderful place to spend winter days. Being here definitely makes the 15 weeks of the snow season much more enjoyable! Always a great experience thanks to the amazing staff that keeps the ski area going.

I stopped in for lunch with my parents. It was their first time eating there. Philly sandwiches were good. Chili was a little spicy & mashed potatoes were good, but there was more gravy than potatoes.
My first visit. Enjoyed a white chocolate apricot scone and hot Machu-Peach-U tea. Both were tasty. Very friendly staff. I also enjoyed that this was a faith-based coffee place, with Christian music piped in.

I had only eaten at a Culver's once or twice several years ago. It was OK. We were in the cities for the evening and had 3 adults and 4 littles to feed. Something for everyone. I LOVED my cod dinner and the rest all enjoyed their choices too. A
