Hyatt Place Newark / Silicon Valley - Hotel in Newark - 5600 John Muir Dr, USA

I understand that this place is fairly new and has room for improvement. Check-in was quick, but the lady who checked me in was distracted and gave me a room that was already occupied, which was a safety concern. However, the breakfast was good, the coffee was strong, and the room was very clean and comfortable, allowing for a great night's sleep. I love Hyatt Hotels, and there is always room for improvement.

Absolutely a great property to stay at. Really large rooms and well designed. Double glazing on windows so there's zero outside noise from the interstate. Easy parking and fantastic access to interstate heading in all directions. Secure building access too.||Front desk team were all great to talk too and offered plenty of SF advice (thanks Dave) and enjoyed a quite drink and chat late in the day with the front desk manager Mahen (He didn't drink). Thanks for that. Obviously the front desk team take pride in operating this property and it was noticeable. ||Really nice breakfast layout too and all public areas were spotless.||Overall really enjoyed staying at this property and if we're in the area again will definitely stay again.

This hotel is new and thus may not be quite up to Hyatt Place standards yet. The room we were given did not have towels and we had to find the housekeeper. Also the Starbucks they advertised was not a real Starbucks. Left too early for breakfast so can't comment on that aspect. The management is trying hard, and I feel the place will improve. Note on parking- one side of hotel has compact size spaces only, regular spaces are on the back side.

Pretty new hotel, near Newark Mall. Plenty of parking, great breakfast. Medium size indoor pool. Originally I got a room booked on the 4th floor with 1 window facing freeway. As soon as I got checked in within minutes I got a call from front desk that I’m getting a noise complaint. Turnes out my toddler walking in the room was so loud that I got moved to another room since the guests below couldn’t enjoy their stay. I’ve never had this happen. This hotel has very poor sound proofing walls, even I could hear people around us and people on the hallways. We ended up getting moved to bottom floor where it’s much more sound proof and my son can walk freely with out complaints. If you travel with kids stay on main floor otherwise you may get moved.

I picked this Hyatt Place for my family and me because it was close to a mall, Costco and Walmart, despite Walmart is closing in the next month… I would still pick this hotel for future travels, mainly because the amazing staff and cleanliness of the rooms and hotel. It has a mix of a personal and business atmosphere. When it comes to the cleanliness of the rooms, we had 4 rooms in total, but separate reservations; when we didn’t want the room to be cleaned, housekeeping was right around the corner and they gave me fresh towels, when necessary. When it comes to noise, you can’t hear anything in other rooms, I know this bc my nephews brought their PS5 and (apparently) screaming but I couldn’t hear anything in the next room are over. The breakfast buffet was great too, if you want boiled eggs, get there early. The hotel is nice enough to extend breakfast on the weekdays for 30 minutes longer and 45 minutes longer on the weekends. My opinion is to get there early. The pool area is very warm, but there is only one shower, meant to be to just rise off before going back to the room and take a full shower. The gym, a lot better than what we are normally used to. It’s very clean. I didn’t use the business center but the staff is more than willing to help you print out stuff if you need to.

1. My daughter chose to sleep on the pull out bed. We used the bedding set provided in the bag. I pulled out everything one by one and made the bed, by the time I pulled out the last item, a used uncapped hypo needle fell out onto the floor. I complained to the desk and all they asked us if we’d like to change rooms. No type of compensation. 2. Breakfast could use more staff. There was barely any food, no plates, no coffee, dirty dishes piled up.

I’ve never stayed at a Hyatt chain before. Great first experience and may search for these brands more often because the bed and pillows were SO comfy! Breakfast was great. Felt safe as you have to use your key to access the elevator floors. The staff was nice. We were on the 5th floor in a corner room and it was quiet and newly renovated. Great location too.

I really don't understand why the ratings are so bad. I stayed here this past Monday through Wednesday and the staff was above and beyond friendly. I was able to utilize the car chargers which was a nice convenience. No issues with car break ins here, at least for my stay (an apparent issue for this area not necessarily this hotel) I felt like this was a good location overall, next to the highway and near plenty of restaurants. The rooms are large with a comfortable bed and a nice sectional couch. Linens and towels were all crisp and smelt fresh. My room, like the rest of the hotel, was spotlessly clean from top to bottom. It was as if no one had ever stayed there before. There is some finishing construction going on during the day but it's barely noticeable and it seems to be almost completed. No ant problem during my stay either. Nor could I hear any noise from any of the other rooms. The only thing from the other reviews that I did notice was the elevators are on the slower side, but that's not the hotels fault. And if that's the only thing I saw wrong with this place during my three day stay, I'd say that's pretty good. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in this area. I guarantee you won't find anything nicer anywhere nearby.
