Hyatt Place Colorado Springs/Garden Of The Gods - Featured Reviews (1007)
The last time I stayed at this Hyatt was 2 years ago. Since then we’ve stayed at the Hyatt downtown. Since we heard this had been remodeled, we decided to try it for one night. ||On the room booking, I requested for not the street side as I know it’s noisy. On the day of check in, I received a text that —not street side is $22 additional as apparently it’s the Mountain View now. ||I called and it was waived but the mountain side closer to the street (4th floor) is still noisy. We checked in later that evening. Although the hotel overall (grounds, building, interior) was definitely nicer than 2 years prior, this was why I gave it 2 stars: ||1. The AC unit was noisy- inconsistent rattling. |2. Close to midnight it suddenly shut off. Checked the AC wall unit and it showed “err”. Had no idea why. Several hours later it turned back on -super noisy start up. But meanwhile the room was hot and there was nothing to block out the street noise. Considering we had to get up for an early flight -this sucked. We heard in the elevator that there was a power glitch - but if so why would it take so long to reset? Needless to say we slept little.|3. The layout of the bathroom, sink area is senseless. You squeeze into the toilet/shower area while the sink mirror is right in front of the beds so impossible to get ready without disturbing the other person. |4. Our time at the hotel was brief so no review on the breakfast or workout facility. I will say that the beds at Hyatts are always comfortable. (Bedding etc) and the room is spacious. |5. Even though you have to pay for parking, the downtown Hyatt is a step up from this one. Perhaps when they completely finish the remodel it will be better.
We stayed three nights here to round out the end of our 8 day vacation. The beds here are so comfortable and the staff is very responsive. We had issues with one of our neighbors smoking marijuana and it was actually seeping into our room. After we called the front desk their response was quick and the air was cleared:) The bartender here is outstanding and knows what she's doing! Every night here was a good night!
I like the layout and spacious feel of the room design. There was a desk couch separate potty & sink & even a nice walk rack for hanging coats bags etc. Room seemed very updated with everything (nice carpet, bedding, fixtures). We were on the first floor facing the back of the property which was nice and the blackout curtains & nice AC let us sleep very well. I am a very light sleeper but slept very well. Breakfast was very busy and there was a decently good selection. I liked the oatmeal with berries. The sausage is good but I cannot eat the scrambled eggs from a powder. Please work on providing something real made with eggs fresh. I did enjoy the hard boiled egg it tasted fresh but these scrambled eggs from a powder just plain taste bad.
I have stated this hotel more than 20 times in the last three years. The staff is very friendly and happy to help and the hotel is clean. The breakfast is pretty good. Very convenient location. Mountain View rooms are very quiet, Cityview rooms have some road noise from interstate 25. Mountain View rooms have odd numbers, Cityview rooms have even numbers. Sometimes the staff is able to upgrade me as a world of Hyatt member.
We had a very nice time and got the impression that the staff really cared about the quality of our stay. This Hyatt location does it even better than higher-end locations such as Hyatt Regency Chicago. Our room felt pretty new and well-maintained. The location is great.
Breakfast was better quality than the average Hyatt, as well, with food being fresh and well-prepared. The serving area was very clean. Dining tables were cleaned between guests, which was appreciated should be the industry norm.
The staff accommodated our group of 72 students/leaders very well while we were in town for Desperation Conference at New Life Church. Breakfast foods were great and plentiful. Rooms were good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location is a little difficult to get into but many food options are nearby.
This hotel was average at best which was disappointing considering the high standard that Hyatt is held. Thankfully, the staff was friendly and accommodating! As of July, 2024, expect rooms to be partially remodeled, a lobby that desperately needs updating and difficult access due to construction on an adjacent property. The location is great and offers quick access to I-25. I would recommend booking a room with the “mountain view” to avoid the highway noise.
OUTSIDE SECURITY CAMERAS DO NOT WORK!!!
I took a trip here to go to Pikes Peak. Stayed the night on 08/30, parking my motorcycle in the parking lot viewable from my room. Woke up on 08/31, went to breakfast, came back to the room and realized my motorcycle was not in the spot I parked it in with a friend's motorcycle. It was moved 200 feet down the lot between the dumpster and a storage container. The wiring harness to the power was cut and I was unable to move it. A $500 tow, $200 repair, 10 hours, and a ruined vacation later, I was finally able to ride 100 back home late that night. I doubt this is the first time this has happened, and without the threat of ramifications and proof of crime through security cameras, it will likely continue to happen.
