Hyatt Place Buffalo/Amherst - Featured Reviews (1171)
The hotel was clean and inviting. I liked the modern decor and the breakfast was great. The big disappointment for our family was the pool and hot tub. Part of the reason we picked this hotel was for a nicer pool/hot tub than the run of the mill hotels. The chemicals were so off in the pool my kids were in for all of 10 minutes and their eyes stung all night and into the next morning. They swim all the time, so this wasn't normal. The hot tub looked disgusting, stained brown tile and so run down. For such a nice hotel and a price point that wasn't cheap, it was disappointing. If they can fix that though, it is a nice place. Rooms were great and staff was friendly. There were some very early (2am and 5am) airplanes going over as well, so something to consider.
Enjoyed our stay. Very nice and updated decor. The bathroom door looks very nice but functionally not the best as it is very heavy and the sliding feature made it hard for my kids to maneuver. The AC wasn't the best in the room either but not terrible. Breakfast was decent a lot of bread options.
Comfortable stay with spacious rooms and the added bonus of free parking. The staff is friendly and professional, making the overall experience pleasant. However, the hotel could benefit from updating the carpets, as there was an unpleasant odor in some areas. Another downside was the policy allowing pets in the rooms; during our stay, there was a dog barking loudly in one of the rooms, which was quite disruptive. Despite these issues, the hotel’s location and overall service make it a solid choice, and I would consider staying here again.
I needed a stop over in Buffalo for one night. The Hyatt Place in Amherst is fantastic. The room was great. Breakfast was great. But what really stood out was that I spoke with no less than three employees and they all were in great spirits, helpful, and very efficient. I'll definitely be returning as a World of Hyatt member. Whoever is running this place, keep the crew you have. They made the stay very enjoyable!! A+.
I booked a suite for 4 adults. We are taking a weekend trip for a baseball tournament—my wife, my two children (15 and 17 years old), and me. We chose the suite for more space; the room includes a kitchen, a living room with a sofa bed, and another room with a king bed. When we arrived at the hotel, the young woman who checked us in was very kind and helpful.
However, when we got to the room, we noticed there were no towels, no extra sheets, and no extra pillows for the sofa bed. Moreover, when we opened the sofa bed, we saw that it wasn't big enough for two adults. This was surprising because the reservation and the hotel's website clearly stated that the room was for 4 people.
I went down to the reception to request an additional bed, and the same person who checked us in told me that the hotel does not offer that service. I asked what I should do, as the room (suite) that the hotel's website says is for 4 people cannot accommodate 4 people. After several exchanges, the person next to her, very rudely and unprofessionally, said, "Well, what do you want us to do?" I told them to find a solution because what they were suggesting was that one of my children had to sleep on the floor. With no other option and essentially being kicked out by the front desk staff, I had no choice but to ask for a refund and find another hotel. (By the way, when I asked the young woman, who was always very kind, for the name of the rude person who practically kicked us out of the hotel and whom I assumed was the manager, she replied, "I am the manager."😳)
It was a very unpleasant experience.
This was our 2nd stay at the Hyatt Place Buffalo/Amherst and plan to return whenever we are in the area. The hotel staff is friendly and professional and the hotel is immaculate. The only criticism is the dinner selection quality, our friends ordered hamburgers which were pre-packaged and my Caesar salad was o.k. The breakfast buffet was fine. Being off the highways made us central to everywhere we went.
My family (2 adults, 4 kids) stayed here for one night before flying home to Louisiana. Upon arrival we were greeted by Tonya who was just so welcoming. She was warm and friendly and engaged in conversation with my kids. I had requested allergen free pillows and she found some for me! Our two rooms were clean and comfortable. The included breakfast was decent but not very many options for gluten intolerant individuals. Even just some gluten free cereal options (Cheerios, Lucky Charms) would be great. I did go down the street to Vin Chets bakery which had an amazing selection of gluten free baked goods. The dining area needed more chairs as most were mismatched with the tables. It was Saturday morning so it felt a bit chaotic but more chairs and more garbage bins would be a good thing.
This was a relaxing and cosy place to stay on a busy business trip where sleep was possible for some 2-3 hours a day only. But comfortable beds made it possible to get out of that short sleep the necessary rest. This hotel is super clean and everything is in great maintained shape. The staff there is very friendly and everyone was trying to assist with enthusiasm. I will definitely stay at this hotel on my all future trips to Buffalo and will recommend everyone I know to get their reservations there for any and every type of travel they might have in that area. I would like to extend my appreciation to the owner and everyone on the team of this hotel for my great experience. Thank you!
WOW! My first time staying here today. I stayed at all brand name hotels around UB for the last two years, and this is the best (most spacious, cleanist, functional, modern, etc.) hotel by far. I am kicking myself for not staying here for the last
Nice clean hotel just a skip and hop from U of Buffalo's north campus. The hotel treats you to a large cookie on arrival. I had a medium sized fridge and a microwave in my King bedroom. Hotel is about 15mins from the airport and airport. Upon arrival
I came in to get my nose pierced and Coco was nice enough to squeeze me in despite being busy. I love the atmosphere and everyone there seemed super kind and I just loved the vibe. Coco was so nice and took an interest in my life despite only being t
Went to the show a few weeks ago... we didn't realize how big of group we had until we got there - They were so amazingly accommodating, making sure all 12 of us could sit together and make sure we had a handicap spot as well! I was so impressed with

Remember: Medium is HOT!!! So do not order too hot wings or try to challenge yourself because your experience will be ruined! We ordered Duffâs extremely hot âdeathâ sauce on the side and I personally lov
First time going. We brought our 2.5 year old for the Halloween trick or treating event. He had a blast. It only took us about 30 minutes to walk through the whole village but I imagine it would take longer if it got busy. All of the volunteers and s
First time going to the Blue Bull Tavern. We went to watch a Bills game and was very pleased with the place. 3 big screens at the bar and a few others through out the bar area. We didn't get the bartenders name but she was very nice and friendly.
