Absolutely excellent. A very quaint bar with good character. I had a dozen of the oysters which were so good and then I had grouper cheeks fried with sweet potato fries and okra. Everything was so good. It was a great atmosphere. It was fun to sit at the bar and see all of the activity. I would highly recommend it.
All we wanted was someone to acknowledge us, but once seated that was it. Plenty of open tables, and staff talking amongst themselves, but apparently greeting customers isn’t something they wanted to do. After 10 minutes, we got up and went across the street to Uncle Ernie’s. We spoke to the hostess as we left but she didn’t care. Bummer because I was excited to try their seafood.
One of the best meals I’ve ever had. 3 cheese oysters, snow crab legs, seared blue crab legs, fried green tomatoes, gator bites and cheese grits. Got there right at 5 and an hour wait. Mid September so that should tell you all you need to know. Can’t wait to go back
Hunt's Oyster Bar never disappoints. We have eaten here several times over the years and always enjoy it. It's still a good value, and you can't pass up on the Grouper cheeks. The oysters are always fresh.
The food was great! The Mahi mahi and 🦀 🎂 were 💰! Service was ok, but food made up for it.
A very low-key seafood spot! I really enjoyed the food, especially the crabcakes. Definitely try those before you leave! I have the grouper, which was pretty good as well.
I should preface this review with the fact that I have never had any oysters of any kind, ever. I was able to enjoy the cheese covered oysters first. These are cooked and there was nothing terribly fishy or weird about the texture to these. For someone who again has never seen an oyster I have to comment and say, I had no idea they were as big as they are! But that's the unique part of here. Hunt's oyster bar has generously sized oysters and seafood which makes this restaurant an excellent place to come and eat. Wait times can be upwards of an hour or more unless you're there first thing, but it is very much worth the wait. The fried shrimp was very tasty. The fries are seasoned well and the baby potatoes were another great choice to choose as a side. I finished off with key lime pie and was very satisfied with the entirety of my meal! The two hush puppies I had were the only things that could have been seasoned better. Overall 5 stars! Would love to come back if I'm ever in the area!
A waitress at a coffee shop in Miramar Beach recommended Hunt's so we made sure to check it out. She was right! The food was delicious. We had hoped to have oysters, however they were serving oysters from Virginia, where we lived, so we decided to pass since we were looking to try new flavors. (VA oysters are yummy!) Our server was great and on point for this busy evening. The steamed shrimp were delicious! The Grilled Seafood platter was plentiful. The Yellow Fin Tuna steak was terrific. If you're there around sunset, walk across the beach and check out the view!
