HuHot Mongolian Grill - Mongolian barbecue restaurant in Lawrence - 2525 Iowa St, USA

This was my return to a HuHot restaurant after a decade or so, mainly as a throwback. This particular location in Lawrence is well placed, right on one of the main streets. A single server seemed handle everything from greeting, assigning tables and running orders. Though she did the best she can, I wish there were a few more to help her as I saw customers trying to flag her down. The food was fine. If you are new to HuHot s, the DIY selection of food bowls will be a novelty. I noticed that some of the pricier items like shrimp were missing, with a printed note stating that it maybe due to supply or labor shortages. The only chef also did a decent job of handling long lines, though cross mixing maybe a possible issue especially if you are allergic. Overall, I enjoyed the experience mainly since it was a nostalgia trip for me.

Great and fun place to eat! You get to choose all your food from the raw foods buffet, choose your seasoning sauces, and watch them cook it right in front of you. Food was fresh and cold. Buffet was Clean and well stocked. Servers were friendly and professional. I joined the rewards club and got $5.00 off my meal.

Seemed like there was only one waitress but she did very good keeping up with all the tables! Excellent experience. Food was cooked perfect.

Always like going to eat here. I've seen other locations not managed very well, but this one maintains the bar exceptionally well and keeps things clean and tightly. If you haven't been to a Mongolian grill, this is definitely an experience you'll like.

This is one of the nicer, cleaner HuHot locations. I've always felt that this location is superior in the overall cleanliness of the dining room and food bar when compared to their Topeka location. Service in the dining room is a little hit or miss, but generally not too bad. Food quality is the same as other locations.

There was only 1 waitress scheduled for the morning and the place was packed, I feel so bad for her but she did a good job keeping up. Whoever was cooking burned every plate every time. There were numerous times he turned his back to text on his phone while customer food was being overcooked on the grill. Also very unfriendly towards my partner and I but very friendly towards everyone else around us.

Unfortunately today we found a cooked bug in our food from the buffet. We loved this place and came here often but sadly won’t be returning. The waitress was nice and handled the situation well. This was for lunch on a Monday as well.

Never even seen a menu! Meat super thin and freezer burnt. No seafood. Just sausage, frozen meatballs, beef,chicken, and pork. Tons of veggies. Not that many sauce choices. No way to taste test to be sure that's what you wanted. Veggies where raw. All the sauce was on the grill. Barley any on the meal. Was all you can eat for about $13 but if it's so bad you don't want to go back then what's the point. Will not venture here again. 👎
