This is my favorite bridge 🌉 😍 it's never really busy on this one and I like how low the bridge sits. Happy driving 🚗
Huey P Long Bridge much better since they widened it, I don't feel like imma end up under a 18 wheeler when one passes me..but I do think the Speed Limit should be 5 mph higher, it is a steep climb and many smaller engines have a ruff time making it up the incline until they reach the top...I constantly have thus issue, but with Law Enforcement at the foot of the bridge a 1 mph over is a risk...increase at least 5mph more!it's constructed across the Great Mississippi River Honda Full Construction without only.
Love the birdge i broke down on it once. Had to call a toe truck company and held up traffic mildly but not a lot cuz they have other free lanes.
It kept us out of the water when crossing the bridge. Success!!
no safe pedestrian or cycling options
I went up it then down it. Not bad..
I LOVE BRIDGES & this one fits the bill. Love the height, this has to be the highest point in the city. You can see clean across the city... BEAUTIFUL!!!! Recently renovated, the bridge has loads of history surrounding it, way too deep for this post. The passenger lanes have recently been widened & the bridge itself rehabbed/renovated. There's also a train rail that runs along this bridge; HOW AMAZING. Great great great!!!! This bridge connects east to went and is a major thoroughfare for commuters. The height of the bridge is appx 153 feet in height; it has commuter lanes and active train rails as well. The sight of the bridge can be daunting and a bit intimidating but it's quick for commuting.
They did a great job with the widening for extra lanes., but tends to look too dark at night & could use reflective lane lines. But *God bless our officers for there presents., but I think it is really really dangerous to be perched on top patrolling in an attempt to get people to slow down where no one can sit, park, ride, drive or walk on those side lanes that look only to be 1-2ft wide of space (ijs). So be careful everyone., because I felt to at a last second to get into the middle lane to avoid a collision & lucky no one was in the middle lane as i seen others did the same. We need there presents & esp during certain events, Holidays & rush hrs., but stay down by the split offs, yield points, exits & entrances. GB :)
