This is a unique park with nice picnic areas and a few trails before the long paved causeway that goes to the beach on the Gulf of Mexico. We parked in the first parking area on left as enter park. Picnic table, bathroom and ball foiled here. Walking the trail we cross a bridge to another area with picnic shelter and facilities. Then we follow a trail that takes us across a long paved causeway to a peninsula beach. Scenic views from causeway. Then nice beach - some areas for kayaking, wind surfing and hydrofoil. Also rocky beach area.
A good family-friendly beach. Like most of the Pinellas beaches you can use the ParkMobile app to pay for parking. Pets are allowed along the causeway but not on the island itself.
Great Park large island beach at the end of The Causeway. Lots of parking. Enjoy fishing from any of the bridges.
My family and I recently visited Howard Park Beach in Tarpon Springs, FL, and we had a delightful experience. The beach, adorned with soft, white sand, provided the perfect backdrop for a relaxing day under the sun. The clear, turquoise water was a sight to behold, allowing us to see the vibrant marine life beneath the surface.
One of the highlights of this beach is its affiliation with Howard Park, a county park offering trails and wooded picnic areas. It was wonderful to have access to both the beach and the park, providing a variety of recreational options for everyone.
Our kids had a blast at the beach, as there was a lively atmosphere with many people enjoying the sunshine. They quickly made new friends and cherished the social interaction. The beach's popularity among families and visitors ensured a vibrant and friendly environment.
However, if you're a fan of crashing into big waves, you might be disappointed. Unfortunately, during our visit, there were no waves to satisfy our craving for aquatic adventures. Nonetheless, the serene ambiance and stunning views compensated for the lack of wave action.
Although our visit was relatively short, we could sense that Howard Park Beach has much more to offer. We didn't have a chance to explore the trails and picnic areas within the park itself, but the beach alone was well worth the trip.
Overall, Howard Park Beach provides a picturesque retreat with its soft sands, crystal-clear waters, and the added bonus of being part of a larger county park. It's a perfect destination for families seeking a relaxing and enjoyable beach experience. We look forward to returning and discovering more of what this lovely location has in store.
It has room to improve with all of the money that’s extorted from people just to park here. Great place for extended community, relaxing in the shade and watching the sunset. People were playing in the water and others were fishing.
I love the Causeway at Howard Park. It's pretty amazing especially for sunset photos. I enjoy relaxing in paradise on the sand or in the water. Its less crowded and more of a neighborhood beach/park. There are plenty of parking spaces, a nice walking area and plenty to do. The park is open sunrise to sunset and you can even rent a kayak or two. This new review has new sunset pictures for November 2022. Just perfect.
Howard park has a little for everyone! Shelters for family outings, beach for sunbathing, fishing areas, nature trails and they have the option to rent various items for water activities or chairs and umbrellas for relaxing. Nice bathhouses that are cleaned and supplied regularly.
Excellent place from which to watch a sunset! The sand is more coarse than other Florida beaches but it's still a great place to visit with kayak rentals and several more remote areas for picnics or fishing.
