Howard Johnson by Wyndham Spartanburg Expo Center - Hotel in Spartanburg - 6690 Pottery Rd, USA

I was never advised of wifi password (if there was one), check out time, or breakfast time. There was blood on the shower curtain and what seemed like slight spatters of old now brown blood on the ceiling above the shower. There was blood on the linen. I get this was likely wasted and didn't come out but get rid of it. There was an incredible amount of dust on the outer cover on the bed. To the point when I set my lap top on it, it was covered. The price was ridiculous for a Sunday and in such a poor area. I would undoubtedly go to one of the others the next time I am in town and there were some equally similar options in that area.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The AC worked but I had to turn it down to 60 because it wasn't reading the temperature correctly and would cut off early. Room got down to about 70, which was fine for me. Bathroom fan did not work and missing light bulb on the desk lamp. Bathroom looked clean, although there was still a slight moldy odor. Included breakfast was small but items were fresh. Location is fine, but a quite a few minutes away from stores and restaurants, except for the Waffle House around the corner. Checkin and Checkout were fast and efficient and the front desk staff was very friendly. I would stay here again.

Initially only booked one night as I was unsure of how this hotel was going to be. My room was clean, odor free, bed was comfortable, and had 0 bugs of any sort as some folks in previous reviews reported seeing bugs. I ended up booking a second night as I was pleased with this location. The hotel does have some minor cosmetic imperfections but, nothing that would deter me from staying here again. The breakfast wasn't anything special so I ended up walking next door to the waffle house to eat. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

I would definitely stay again. The staff were friendly and seemed to care about the guests. There is secured entry after 9 PM. The rooms were cleaned and you get housekeeping daily. They have continental breakfast. It is close to a few fast food places and gas stations, and is easy to get on and off the interstate. You don't have to really deal with much traffic. Out of the hotels at this interchange, this is no doubt the best one. The rooms were updated and the bed was comfortable. The only issue I had was with the door, there is a couple inch gap at the bottom that allowed for sound to go in or out. Not sure why this is the way it is, but its a minor issue.

This place is very comfortable, and the staff are nice. The breakfast time frame ensures both early and late risers can enjoy, and even if that's not your style; there are resteraunts convieniently close. The walls in the room are not monotone and vary nicely, so the place looks interesting and vibrant instead of dreary. There's also art on the walls! My only complaint would be that the bulbs in the room are a little dim.

No longer Howard Johnson, it is now a Quality Inn. This hotel is being remodeled now. The rooms were very nice, but the water in the shower was hooked up backwards. Hot was on the right and Cold on the left. The elevator was very dirty due to the construction.

The front desk clerk was very pleasant and helpful. The room was clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The only drawback was the location which didn't have much in the way of places to eat or drink. The Mexican restaurant that we were pointed to, was very good.

We checked-in to this motel after a long night of driving. We were somewhat shocked with the room. Walking down the hallway it appeared that there were long-term residents staying there. The room itself did not meet minimum expectations even by motel standards. Walls were paper thin and we could hear a phone conversation that the guest next door was on. The room did not seem clean and the door handle fell off in the bathroom. Because we were so tired we laid down and tried to make the best of it. After 20 minutes in the room we decided that we did not feel safe staying there. We grabbed our belongings and went to the front desk where we were told that there are no refunds after being in the room over an hour. After we pointed out that we had only bee in there for 20 minutes, the clerk said she was not authorized to provide a refund. We left and drove until we could find other accommodations. When we spoke to the manager the next day he credited us back all but $20 because we were in the room that long. That only tells me that this motel allows seedy things to occur and charges by the hour. Wyndham should take a closer look at this particular location as it gives the entire chain a really bad reputation.
