Howard Johnson by Wyndham Lake George - Hotel in Lake George - 99 Canada St, USA

Great location!! Easy walk to the Lake George Steamboat Company and everything in downtown Lake George. Rooms were a good size and reasonably clean. Bed was comfortable, but on the small side for being a Queen bed. Please let Wyndham know that the "artsy" wood panels on one of the walls is not necessary and, frankly, not attractive. Instead, a formal closet with an iron and ironing board would be better. Love the high-end toiletries and beautiful large bathroom! Overall, it was a pretty good stay!

Great location - walking distance from all village attractions, restaurants, beach etc. It was our first time visiting Lake George . We didn't need to use a car at all while there. Staff was helpful and friendly. Room was clean. Fridge is bigger than the average size hotel fridge so that was a nice surprise - you can fit a gallon of water / milk and a decent amount of food / snacks. If you read the description carefully you'll notice that breakfast is 1 breakfast item ( granola bar) and coffee, tea ,juice. It is not a continental breakfast or breakfast buffet as most people expect. Coffee was really good ( Maxwell House). We had a great time and we're definitely going back again.

Let’s start with I paid $700 for this.. The location was great which is why I chose it. Front desk guy was very nice, but right when we walked in I knew there was no complimentary breakfast and coffee like it was stated online. I’m not sure about the other rooms but for my case… Room smelled very very dirty. Nothing on the tv worked. Sink had no drain. 2 very small pillows for our bed with nothing else provided. We were there for all about 20 minutes and found 4 cockroaches in the bathroom, in the lights, on the wall in the bathroom… front desk came right away and was helpful and apologetic, she was so sweet. Unfortunately we could not stay there for the two nights we hoped because of these conditions.

I just needed a room in the area to avoid the traffic. I live in the area. Honestly, I didn't expect extravagance by any means, the room was very tiny but I wasn't hanging around in it all day so I didn't mind. A couple things that weren't the greatest, 1. There was someone's old sock under the bed... eh. 2. I found a couple of the Japanese Beatles on my bed, later that night while trying to go to bed I saw 9 little black flying moth bugs on my ceiling which was making me anxious but I didn't have the energy to try and get them. 3. They did not offer lotion with their toiletries. It's LG, the sun is hot... I had some sunburn and was a bit dry and uncomfortable. All hotels I've stayed at have had small bottles of lotion so I didn't bring mine... minor inconvenience. 4. The safety latch was broken off my door, and there was a note on the door saying to secure your safety latch for your protection.... it was just ironic. 5. The pillows were tiny like throw pillows and there was only 2. Finally 6. I remember reading something about breakfast and got excited but there isn't any... just random coffee & some granola bars sitting in the main office. Not breakfast... but at least it's something. This being said a few good things about the room were the refrigerator, microwave, and the air conditioner was great. The bed was comfortable despite the lack of pillows, and despite it being noisy outside, the air conditioner blocked all the noise out from the cars and such. The check in and check out was smooth and the people were friendly. Honestly it's just a bit outdated but for a quick 1 or 2 night stay while hanging out in LG it works because the location is great and everything is within walking distance.

Stayed here for four days. Location is great and remote, within walking distance of everything lake George has to offer. Pool was nice and well kept, staff was nice and friendly…and most importantly rooms were very clean. Huge shoutout to the cleaning crew that came in every day and replenished and cleaned our room-they are amazing and clearly very dilligent. For the price we paid, (which was very fair) I would say it was a great experience. Thanks for having us!

Planned a trip to lake George and chose this hotel. The location was great. Manager at the front desk was awesome . The room was small but for two of us it was fine. We liked it so much we extended out stay an extra day with no issues or having to move rooms. Will definately be back

I was told I can no longer bring my dog to this location. Apparently they "no longer allow dogs to stay". So I paid for a dog sitter for the week I'm up in Lake George. Today I get back from lunch and there's a dog staying in the room directly next to mine. How is this ok? What are the double standards that I'm unaware of? Why did i have to pay for a dog sitter due to your "policies" that are clearly crap? Hypocrisy at its finest. Next year I'm bringing my dog, and management can take a hike if they tell me it's not ok. Create a policy for all or none..... for the record, there was no support dog identifying tags on the dog. Unlike mine that has a support vest. So that excuse can be cut off immediately. EDIT.....because the business clearly is terrible with reading comprehension. The dog standing in front of me has no service animal tags or vest. My dog has a service animal vest. My dog was not allowed. This dog was. So please explain why a service dog was denied and a great Dane was allowed? Clearly your policies are as garbage as your social media department.

Stayed here Friday 5/21/24 and Saturday 5/22/24. Check in was easy, though the concierge changed our room before we got in it as he said it wasn’t clean. The second room we entered and it smelled like cigarette smoke when we turned on the a/c. Requested another room, this one didn’t smell like cigarettes at least. The room was clean enough, but could really use more attention to detail on the cleanliness and the updating. We could see on the main part/level they were renovating some rooms so that is good, but in our room some small details just really detracted from our experience here such as the bathroom door not shutting properly and leaning as it was attached with drywall screws, nice new bathroom sink and countertop but no vanity or cabinets below it with all of the plumbing exposed, decent (laminate?) floor except it didn’t seem nice and clean, cheaply mounted tv and a crappy remote with almost dead batteries. The “free breakfast” was stale coffee and granola bars. But enough about the negative… On the plus side it was in a GREAT location! We walked everywhere we wanted to go in Lake George. The bed was fairly comfortable and the sheets looked newer and very clean. There seemed to be ample parking. Again did I mention great location? I’ve stayed in worse places but I’ve stayed in much much better. If it was a great rate I’d probably stay here, but for a slight bit more I might try a different place down the road as well.
