This is a message directly to the owner. If you keep charging people $5 every night because of a "local surcharge", your business will fail. I was told by the receptionist that the local surcharge is for using parts of the facility like the laundry room and ice machine...honestly that makes no sense at all because all of that is included in the total hotel stay price at regular hotels, not to mention not every guest uses them so why are you charging them? What's even worse is that the washing machine and dryer are coin laundries. $2.50 for the washing machine and $1.00 for the dryer. Not only are you paying $5 per night that you stay there but you still have to pay an extra $3.50 for the washing machine and dryer anyway. What's the point of the $5 charge again? I decided not to do my laundry there out of spite since I would have to pay another $3.50 for one load. It's a shame because everything else about the hotel is amazing. The location is great, the staff is great and It's relatively clean. But the fact that you're charging guests for no justifiable reason leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I can't trust you. If this place didn't have a local surcharge, it would easily be a 5 out of 5. For people looking for a really cheap place to stay, I highly recommend finding other options. Don't be desperate, you deserve much better.

The room was clean if a bit dated. Didn't detract from what I needed which was a clean comfortable bed after a long day of travel. I would have appreciated a bed on the ground floor as I had to haul a large suitcase up the stairs to my room to sort out things I needed in the days to come. None available though. The breakfast was very good - I loved the automatic pancake maker!

I haven’t even checked out yet and I’m writing this review. Well, one thing that I could’ve controlled but went through with anyway was the fact that I paid $25 per PET per NIGHT, IMO that’s a lot but whatever. The photo attached is the ‘AC’ unit that was in the main part of the ‘suite’. The AC unit of my room worked at about 25% as you would expect an AC unit like that to work at. With that, the associated extra ‘bedroom’ was uncomfortably warm all night. We called the front desk stating that the AC unit wasn’t working properly, there was no sympathy or empathy or any assistance provided. When we asked if we could get a fan or anything to help us, no help was offered. I was moving from North Carolina to Nevada, the only semblance of relief we got was that we had floor fans with us that we brought to our room. Also, the front desk ‘attendant’ was wearing a sweater and jeans, I get this is a 2 star hotel but at least a polo and a name tag would be reasonable, they were also on a personal call on speakerphone while checking us in. The TV that was in the extra bedroom of the suite was not in good working order either, didn’t bother saying anything to the front desk about that one! Overall, terrible stay. If I could ‘return’ my stay here and get a refund, I would instantly. Not that anyone else cares, I do declare I won’t be staying at any Howard Johnson hotel for a long time, if ever again.

Had a good experience there two days since had a vehicle problem. The problem when checking out and the owner is extremely rude! He and my husband got into a verbal confrontation over a shoe dirt on a sheet. He said shoes don't belong on the bed. Um, it happened when taking off his shoes. I will be filing complaint with chamber of commerce, Wyndham and Howard Johnson. My husband mentioned there was drug activities there, the owner said so. He didn't care. Very rude, very unprofessional. If you're looking for quality Wyndham property, this isn't it.

The staff was friendly and gave us a nice upgrade. Check in was easy. Looks are deceiving from the outside. Room was nice and clean beds were comfortable. Hotel was in a perfect spot for where we wanted to be. Looking forward to the breakfast. We had a nice stay.

I stayed 2 nights at this hotel and highly recommend it. The bedroom was very clean, new, cozy and the bed very comfortable. Also nice to have a tv, micro wave and fridge. You can easily walk to the city center, supermarket and restaurants nearby. Also, the staff was very welcoming and friendly - we were happily surprised to get an upgrade without being charged extra. Thanks for a nice stay in Flagstaff !

This hotel has additional surcharge of $5 person that is not disclosed during reservations. It may be present in some fine prints when you reserve. But I don't know of anyone who will read lengthy rule and regulations. Not sure why can't they directly add it to the reservation cost. Rooms were good for the price. But the front staff was either not informed or lied about additional surcharges. Breakfast was a joke for comparable hotels. When I informed the manager about my conversation with front desk, she called me a liar.

Im overly happy and satisfied for the two night stay i had. The service and hotel is superb. Super clean comfy rooms. Very fair prices and breakfast included. The location is super close to the center. And the views on the mountains are great. All the people working there are super friendly and considering. Would only recommend!! Thank you

Maybe the best chain hotel in town. Walk a couple of blocks to plenty of places to eat, drink and shop. Beautiful, clean, spacious and light rooms. Nice breakfast, with friendly staff there and at check in. Upgraded to a corner suite.

I was pleasantly surprised! The lobby was lodge-y themed with a large wood-burning fireplace. Front desk was very helpful. The room was spacious (2 queens and pullout couch) and included a coffee bar area with Keurig, fridge, microwave, and safe tuck

I won a bet with my buddy about who had the best burrito in town. I made him eat an El Mayor from Tres Amigos. He looked me dead in the eyes and said: "you win".

Gracie Barra Flagstaff has been such a great place to watch our son learn fundamentals of life, safety and become more confident as a 6 year old. We've only been here since January 2023 and we have enjoyed every part of being involved in this academy
