If you are looking for a quiet friendly historic B&B this is the place. Situated very close to all attractions and restaurants in Mystic this place provides the peace and relaxation you’re looking for. Evan the host and his faithful dog Mr. Dixie are welcoming and friendly. Evan shows you around and then the place is yours. Ice ,water ,seltzer ,coffee and treats are available thru out the day and Evan serves a spectacular and tasty breakfast in the A.M.|The rooms are spacious and comfy. We stayed in the Cupola room which had stairs up to the Cupola sitting room with 360 views. The rooms are pet friendly so next time we will be bringing our pup.
My husband & I stayed 2 nights at this lovely bed & breakfast! The biggest plus was, we could bring our golden doodle with us!! House of 1833 has a lot to offer in terms of furnishings ( mostly antique ) Christmas decorations & very festive breakfast room!! The highlight of the stay was Evans hospitality. He is an amazing chef & prepares very good breakfast. The blueberry muffins with fresh whipped cream was a topper. Evans Dog Dixie is a sweetheart & v.mellow. Mystic downtown is less than a 10 min ride in the car. All in all, it felt like home away from home & from the verandah room, I had access to the kitchen & microwave, and the drawer with all kinds of exotic tea bags. We will definitely love to go there in summer & enjoy the pool area & gardens.
We had the nicest time at The House of 1833! We went there for our 30th wedding anniversary. The house itself is amazing, just filled with beautiful antiques. Our host Evan was so warm and welcoming, and such an amazing cook. Best breakfast at a B&B we have ever had. Our room was clean and comfy, and so quiet. The lovely village of Mystic is only a few minutes drive away. We were there for two nights, and in that short time we felt like Evan was an old friend, or family.. We were sad to leave! Looking forward eagerly to our next visit.
We can’t say enough about our stay at the House of 1833. Our experience was wonderful for so many reasons, starting with the innkeeper Evan. He is so welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable, and a phenomenal cook. The breakfasts are very creative and delicious !!! This bed and breakfast has many artifacts, photos, antiques, etc. which greatly enhance the ambiance of the home. It is located near restaurants, museums, shops, Foxwoods casino, and of course the Mystic River. We plan to re-visit the House of 1833 as soon as possible.
House of 1883 was our first bed and breakfast experience, and wow, did it blow our minds. We struck gold under the hospitality of owner, Evan, who was one of the finest humans we've ever met, and his puppy wasn't too bad either 😀 The property is old and stunning. Evan has the interior decorated to perfection. You will have to stay here to experience his cooking because it is simply out of this world. What an escape from reality! Thanks, Evan!!!!!!!
This is a real treasure house, filled with antiques from the era. So many items to discover - Tiffany lamps, a sofa whose twin lives in the White House, a beautiful old weeping Juniper tree. Our stay was magical. Evan is very hospitable and made us feel like his home was ours. If you have a pet and want to bring him/her on vacation, this is the place to stay. Our Freddie loved it. And Evan is amazing baker, so we every morning was a gourmet breakfast. Highly recommend the Peach Room. 5 plus stars!
This was our first bed & breakfast experience. It was nothing short of wonderful. The house is full of beautiful antiques and historic artwork. Breakfast by our gracious host was different each day and most delicious. We were blessed with lovely weather and dined on the patio with other friendly guests and the resident dog, which made it so fun. There are plenty of places both inside and outside to relax, especially the pool. Every detail was attended to in both rooms our family used (Ivy and Veranda).
Hands down the BEST Breakfast EVER! Evan is a Phenomenal chef. He catered to everyone's needs and had a variety of freshly made breakfast options. The room was very comfortable and quiet, even with a full house.|Thanks for a wonderful start to our vacation!

We had shrimp fried rice and cauliflower tikla marsala. Really good. The chef cooks to order so the food is fresh, the carrots still with a little crunch, the vegetables all still tasty, the rice cooked perfectly, nothing soggy from being reheated.
We had an AMAZING experience! I booked online and had some questions so called ahead. The staff were very helpful and didnât seem bothered by my calling. When we did the run through and even throughout the course all of the staff were helpful to my

Great place to visit and shop around at various stores. Sticky Situation, the glass jewelry place, extra virgin olive oil, and Munson's chocolate are all great places. The area around Christmas time takes new life and is a joy to experience. They had
Breakfast here was an absolute treat. I opted for the crab and asparagus eggs benedict, which were fantastic, however the real star of the show were the pancakes. They were some of the most delicious and fluffy pancakes I've ever had. Make sure to tr
