Ever hear of a catfish? If not, that's when a person presents themselves in one way with pictures or what not, then when you meet them in real life, it's a whole other story. This is basically the Hotel version of that. Let's break it down. Positives: 1. Super close to the board walk. .... That's it for the positives Are the pictures shown here of the actual hotel? The outside ones are, but just know the pictures are way nicer than what you will see. Just drive down main until you see a trap house, you can't miss it! The room itself was the worse hotel room I've ever seen and I've traveled a lot. Here are some key points 1. From inside the room with the door shut, you could still see into the hallway on the top, bottom, and even the sides of the door 2. The bed frames were random twin frames you might find at a refugee camp that were zip tied and taped together. I sat on one and immediately fell through as one if the zip ties gave way. 3. Not one single thing was clean. There was crud on the walls, sand on the floor, tub was gross.... you get the picture. 4. Doorstop for the bathroom door? Drywall screw half screwed into the door molding. 5. Drop celing in the room. That alone isn't terrible, but maybe get some celing tiles without a bunch of water damage though 6. There actually was a pool out back. I got near it and told my kids no way 7. Ice machine was fun! I was given a disposable solo cup and had to take the front cover off and reach my hand inside the machine. There's a CVS in walking distance the ladies there were very apologetic when I told them where my family was. They began giving suggestions on where else we could go. Do yourself a favor if you don't believe me, call the local places and mention this hotels name.

Okay, I'll be 100% honest. The room is kind of eh. There is no secondary lock for the door (a chain or upper bolt), and the door handle is perfect height for our 2 year old to grab and get out without anyone noticing. Luckily, she's shown no interest in doing so. The bathroom is very dated, with barely lukewarm shower water. Our TV is broken, no big deal because we didn't come here to watch TV, and they gave us free beach tags instead. The wood stairs leading up the three floors to our room are definitely rotting, which has me nervous. but for $60 a night, I'm okay with all of this. We are only here for one night, and this will do.

Upon check-in, the night manager, Tariq, handed me 3 towels for 5 people. It was raining and late and we just wanted to go eat after a long, traffic filled ride in. The room, room 5, was dirty beyond anything I've seen. The floors covered in dirt and sand. The sheets were stained and covered in dirt and what felt like sand. The pull out sofa was full of sand, which we wiped off, but there was no sheets for the pull out so I had to go down to the desk at midnight for sheets. I plugged something in and 2 lights went out. We called Tariq and he came and fixed it. I tried finding different accommodations for the next evening and every motel was booked completely for the weekend, otherwise I would have left. ||||In the morning, after a horrible night's sleep on a very uncomfortable mattress, I went down to the front desk and spoke with Cassandra, the manager. When I told her I had to wear shoes to walk in the room because the floor was dirty, her response to me was "I wouldn't walk barefoot at any motel at the jersey shore. They're all like that and I've seen worse." I've been coming to the jersey shore for 20+ years and have always been able to walk around barefoot in any motel room up and down the shore from Wildwood to Sandy Hook. 3 weeks ago, I stayed at a lovely motel in Wildwood that allows pets and the place was spotless and cheaper. I asked if there was another room we could move to, she told me everything was booked. Then I asked if I could get a discount to which she told me, you have to call booking.com and they will call us for the discount. Because there was no other room available, she offered to have the maid come and clean the room (which apparently isn't a daily thing?) so I said yes please, thank you, and change the sheets. ||||I walked out of the office and called booking.com and explained the situation. The nice girl on the phone left me on hold while she called Cassandra. When she came back she said, Cassandra told her there would be no discount and if I cancelled with booking.com and paid them direct, it would be MORE money. Cassandra also told them she offered me a different room... that never happened. ||||I walked back into the front office and spoke to Cassandra who now changed her story about a discount and said that she wasn't giving me a discount, booking.com would have to do that, which is not what she said the first time. When I asked about the different room, she said "well we have to do it right now", to which I said that would be fine. She then told me "it's the same room you're in, just a different floor". I asked if I could look at it before moving all my stuff. She gave me a key to room 10. I walked up to the 3rd floor and the key didn't work. ||||At this point, I'm not wasting part of the 1 day I have at the beach; friends were waiting for us and we needed to get ready, I called her to let her know the key wasn't working and to please send the maid. She took note that room 10's door lock doesn't work and I went about my day. ||||I left my room at 8:30am with the promise that the "best" housekeeper was coming to clean our room, change the sheets, and bring new towels. I returned at 7pm to my room looking exactly the way I left it. I went down to the front desk, Tariq was there again, to ask what happened and was told someone came to clean it. I said "come look at it" which Tariq did and while he walked over, he called someone on the phone asking if Juan and someone else came to clean our room cause they told him they had. When I spoke to Cassandra, she said a woman, the head housekeeper, was coming to clean my room. Tariq offered to change the sheets himself and sweep the floor while we were out for dinner. He did so and when I returned, the floor was mildly better than before and the sheets were at least stainless but still gritty feeling, like there was sand in the bed. ||||When I left Sunday morning, I returned my key and thanked Tariq for coming to clean our room, that's not his job and at least he tried. It's also not his fault that the property he works for is obviously poorly managed. I plan on writing to corporate, Choice Hotels International to let them know the condition of this property.

I booked a hotel room for 6, and they gave me a room for 4 people. They tried to get me to stay in a room that was still under construction, and I refused so they took me to another room. If only I had known that the room under construction was the better option. They provided no towels, no toilet paper and no soap. I paid 600$ for 2 nights and I had to sleep on a sofa bed. The room had definitely never been cleaned, my socks were black just from walking from the bed to the bathroom. The hotel staff was rude and inconsiderate, and asked me to pay a 300$ deposit without a receipt. Moral of the story, everything about this place sucked and I cannot believe I spent my money there.

Last minute stay so I can't really complain but I will anyway. Place must have been bought by econo lodge. It was run down, ill-maintained. The room's lock looked like there was an attempted break-in. The toilet was broken. The sink leaked into a trash can they stuck underneath it. Gave us zero towels to use. The sheets looked dirty and felt gritty. Was told there's "free parking", well there's like 8 spots so good luck getting one. Did not want to spend any time in that place. Will spend the extra money to stay in a nicer place next time.

This place is a dump they make the rooms look nice but the place is a hole in the wall.we checked in at the seabreeze and I thought it was a joke. The entrance door door looked like it was broke number 1. We get into the room and they say 2 beds and a pull out sofa, pull out sofa looks like a 1900 sofa and they give you a sheet. There was 2 towels no floor towel, no soap in the bathroom and yes no toilet paper. They had another door with the pull out sofa and a dresser up next to it that had no hinges for the door to lock. We called the lady at the front desk she said we can give you toilet paper. I said are you freaking kidding me this is not what we seen on the internet page for the room. She says looks can be deceiving because those pictures are when they opened. I said thats horrible. I would of rather slept in my car then the dump of the hotel. Try he front desk lady ended up giving us room at the econolodge side of a hotel si ce the owner owned 2. Turned out to be much better and cleaner. Never again would I stay here the front check in n desk had a portable ac unit on the desk of check in and the breakfast that's served in the morning was in the check in area. Like who does that cheap people that just dont give a shot. Never again would I stay here even if you paid me. DO NOT STAY AT THIS DUMP. Unless you wanna go the cheapest route EVER.

I'm writing a separate review because we were moved to Econolodge per our request. The website for this hotel says it has all suites, free breakfast, and is adjacent to Econolodge. It is actually a separate building. The room was not a suite-it had 2 beds and a sofa in one room, with a refrigerator. When I told the person at the front desk at checkout he seemed surprised the website said they are all suites because only some are. My husband went at 8am and all there was for breakfast was white bread in a container and coffee. Again at 9 there was only the bread and coffee (which was a new pot). So I don't know why they would say it's an adjacent all suites motel with breakfast when none of that is true. I wasn't comfortable staying in a separate building and asked to be moved to Econolodge, which is supposedly an upgrade...I've reviewed it separately. Photos are of Sea Breeze.

The location is perfect....only a short walk to the beach. The room was clean and it appears as though they were somewhat updated. Bed was clean, comfortable and linens were clean. Nice flat screen television. Unfortunately the bathtub isn't the greatest (old and dirty looking). We had significant weather delays and subsequently arrived at the inn at midnight and found that the doors and office were locked up and closed for the night. There were a couple phone numbers taped on the door for assistance and luckily for us someone answered and came down to give us room keys (much appreciated). We didn't realize that they closed the office so ensure you check in on time. Upon check out the staff were very kind and pleasant and indicated that they tried to contact us to see when we'd be checking in. Their other property "The Sands" appears much more maintained than the Seabreeze.

The cleaning smell in the hallway is strong, but not as strong in the rooms. AC is loud, but effective! Rooms were great, loved having a mini fridge available. Can't beat the location!! We'll definitely be back.
