Hotel Rapids - Hotel in Grand Rapids - 680 US-2, USA

Traveling across the country with pets and this place was amazing. We stayed in the 3 bedroom ground and it made dealing with animals and our kids so easy. Service was spot on and the level of courtesy from the staff was next level. The rooms were better than staying in a 5 star hotel in my opinion. When traveling through again will definitely make this a stop for the night.

From the check in to the 3 Bedroom Suite! Everything was great! The staff were all super friendly and quick to respond if you need anything! Really liked the fact they offer a three bedroom. It’s like your own little condo… a living room, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen with a Kuerig.

If you’ve ever watched Schitt’s Creek you’ll understand that it seemed they did a take off of the Johnny Rose sprucing up old motels and making them appealing places to stay. Hotel Rapids is a motel - nothing close to resembling a hotel. Many of the rooms are accessed from the outside (not a problem.) they are in the process of utilizing new reservation and check in technology so this process was clunky but that’s to be expected. Because there is a small bistro in the lobby, it smelled unpleasant when you walked in- very burnt smelling. The check in person said my room was upstairs and to the right when in fact it was outside and to the left. Cars are parked literally at your doorstep. ||The motel sits on a very busy street and it is noisy. Earplugs are provided in each room. The rooms are nicely updated and appear modern. The single rooms are quite small but the space is well utilized. Some of the softest sheets I’ve ever slept on and the most horrible foam pillows ever. There is a mini frig and microwave and delicious ground coffee provided the in room Keurig. The bathroom is very small with a very very dark shower - but not dark enough not to see the most disgusting shower curtain ever. The bottom of it was black with mold/mildew. Wash the darn thing once in a while. There was someone else’s long hairs on the bathroom floor and much dirt on the baseboards. ||You are provided with $10 coupon per person to use in the bistro which serves mostly just crepes - I tried them one morning but I’m really not a fan. There are also muffins and oatmeal on the menu. The Americano coffee was delicious. ||If you’re not a light sleeper you may want to try this place. The dirty bathroom pretty much ruined it for me. Maybe I just caught on off room in that regard. Would I stay here again - no - but this place would appeal to many looking for a bit different experience.

I stopped here after a 13 hour drive, it was the first hotel coming into town. I was leary. Chloe at the desk was super kind and friendly. The room looked to be recently renovated and was so cute and clean. They seemed to think of everything. Bed was very comfortable. I had a great sleep. Highly recommend this gem.

We stayed here last year as well and again received great service and room. We stayed in 3-bedroom suite. The staff is all very friendly, room was very clean, and bed super comfortable. The 3-bedroom suite had 2 sets of bunkbeds - standard and large along with 2 bathrooms. Room included $20 vouchers for bistro. Their crepes are delicious. The bar/bistro is cute and cozy.

I thought I shared a review forever ago. But I came up for work right before Covid spread in 2020 I was here for about a month and it was an awesome place. I met some awesome people as well. Kayla (not sure if she still works there or not) was an awesome receptionist, the ladies (again not sure if they still run the mini restaurant or not) were very welcoming and I enjoyed the food, and Joey was an awesome owner. Any complaints or anything was resolved immediately! Going on 2024 and I still haven’t made my way up and hope to eventually!

Very cozy hotel. Friendly staff. Was a last minute check in right off the main Hwy. A staff member entered our room unannounced while we were still sleeping in the morning.

The room smelled gross and old. It was a tiny room with a worn out mattress that kept sinking in the middle. There’s a Taco Bell next door and there was smashed food in the parking lot. Lastly, housekeeping never came and when we asked for more towels the woman on the phone was rude and told us it was our fault because we didn’t put up a sign asking for housekeeping (we didn’t see a sign and we weren’t told we needed to during check in). I was hoping it would be a gem since my family’s cabin is in the area, however it’s safe to say we’ll stay somewhere else next time.
