Hotel Monte Vista - Hotel in Flagstaff - 100 N San Francisco St, USA

The locations is absolutely fantastic!! We love the old historic hotels, but this one needs a deep clean. Given the abundance of fixture designs, it seems some replacements could be invested in and provide the opportunity for cleaner, updated better functioning light fixtures and plumbing,while maintaining the historic vibe.|During our two night stay, only one front desk person was friendly and helpful, the young man on duty on Friday afternoon.|Parking is challenging. there is a small lot but it is not gated or secured so we had to street park. |The lounges were very popular at night, surprisingly the music was muted so it did not bother us, but it might disturb some folks.

Upon hearing about the haunted Monte Vista hotel, I made arrangements to stay the night here and requested room 305, which was said to be the most haunted with paranormal activity at high levels. The hotel itself is tastefully dated, clean and actually above standards in comparison to some of the modern hotels. The room itself was dust free, clean sheets and bedding, clean bathroom and spacious. The furniture is most likely the original with a few upgrades. The famous rocking chair is old and tattered, rich with historical value. The hotel lobby and lounge were identically clean and filled with pictures of past and present. So was it haunted? Upon touring the hallways there is a staircase on the fourth floor that shows a creepy upper level of complete blackness as pictured. Most likely an attic or rooftop entrance. I did not go up there. I heard some noises in the room, but it mostly consisted of the settlement of the building in the later hours of the night. There is a lot of noise coming from the bar and the outside streets so beware, you will need something to drown out the noise if you want to sleep. The only instance I heard that may have been a presence was a knocking on the bathroom door the next morning. However, this could be the dated pipes. Overall, the stay was phenomenal. The only two cons I had was I arrived early and attempted to check in at 2. I was told I had to wait until 3. However, while I was in the lobby, several guests were checking in at 2:30. The other con is I parked in the lot provided by the hotel which is small. I left for a few minutes and lost my space and had to pay for parking. Since the lot is small, perhaps the spaces should be assigned according to room.

The rating of 0 does not exist so I put a 1 This hotel is a shame !! The windows of the room lack so much of soundproofing that we could hear the people talk across the street and I'm not telling you about the traffic at the intersection of the 2 streets!! Moreover, the room was of dubious cleanliness. The curtains are not opaque and let in the day of the first lights of dawn Finally the mattress of the bed dated from the construction of the hotel… In a word an hotel to avoid…

Just went for an afternoon drink. The espresso martinis are very good. Loved the laid back atmosphere with the couches and oversized chairs. They opened the french doors which made it perfect with the outside air coming in.

Very fun and interesting experience. We stayed here for our fifth anniversary! The staff were total sweethearts, and helped me with parking when I was confused! It’s in the heart of historic downtown which was a major plus! It’s a historic building, so don’t expect luxurious when you stay here, although Elizabeth made sure to give us a clean and enjoyable experience in our room! I know people were complaining about noise, but we stayed on the fourth floor and we couldn’t hear anything! Thank you for an unforgettable experience!

So delightfully creepy and tacky! The staff was so friendly! I stayed in a king suite where the tub jets were onky semi-functional but I loved it! Theres a bar near the main lobby and another bar at the lower/underground level where the locals are super welcoming. It may not be the cup of tea for some but Id definitely stay here again! So creepy and fun!

Beautiful historic hotel. Has stories of hauntings and some cool celebrities have stayed there. It is centrally located in Downtown Flagstaff. Nice bar inside. The only thing is if the mini split AC was mounted on the other window away from the bed. Couldn't get the room as cool as we like. When you close the window curtains it keeps air from flowing.

This is a 1920's hotel, you aren't going to get chain hotel experience here. It's a little quirky and a little dated but so are we, so we enjoyed it. Several celebrities were suppose to have stayed here back in the day. The wifi wasn't working when we were there but we had cell service which was fine for our needs. The hotel is supposedly haunted but we sadly didn't see or hear any ghosts. There is a nice bar downstairs and the cocktails were great. Easy walking to restaurants and shops. We stayed early in the week (Mon-Wed) - I think it could be noisy on the weekends since the hotel is near several brew pubs in this college town.
