Beautiful 100+ year old lake front hotel. Perfect getaway from bustle of. Modern times. Modern comfortable bed, nice new bath. Fun antiquities all over. Mary Jo left us beautiful flowers for our anniversary celebration. Thanks we will be back

Super place with an awesome experience. No TV in the room and WiFi is slow but it's worth it to just shut the world off for a moment and imagine a time forgotten. Breakfast was great and the bed was very comfy. I usually do t sleep well in hotels but I was very at home here.

Stayed at the Lakeside Hotel recently. Staff were friendly and the room was okay, but in need of repairs. There were no blinds or shades on the window. There was no restaurant open for dinner (on a Friday evening) within the Lakeside property; no open restaurant at the hotel or other locations at Lakeside). It would be helpful when making a hotel reservation if staff would let guests know about restaurants being closed). That was disappointing and inconvenient.

This hotel is only open in the summer months and never intended for winter use. This is an historic hotel and dated. No tvs, irons, refrigerators. But it does have a Keurig and great water pressure. This is a summer historic getaway hotel. You don't spend time in your rooms so we have never mind it's rustic nature. The screened porch with the lakeview is incredible. The caterer that maintains the restaurant on the property serves absolutely wonderful food. This is our go-to place when you need a relaxing weekend, and fun activities for the kids. Safe, quiet at night, and everyone is so respectful and wonderful. I wish I could afford my own house here. I do wish though Hotel Lakeside could partner with The Greenbrier or The Homestead hotel in Virginia. They maintain historic old structures and hotels as well and probably could learn a lot from their operations and their experience over the years. Just a suggestion to throw out there. Put the charm of Hotel Lakeside is magical.

We have watched this hotel transform over the last 35 years from a work in progress to a warm, welcoming, and comfortable place to stay. And the location is perfect.

Lovely hotel and area. Breakfast was good and beds were decent. My one issue with service: We were not aware before arriving of the very high cost of parking and the charges per person to stay at the hotel which are paid at the entry gate. We paid $170ish for two adults and one car for two nights. Additionally, we paid $102 for 3 kids for two nights. This is above and beyond the per night charge to stay at the hotel, which you pay the hotel. I went back and looked at my confirmation email and although it was mentioned there was an additional charge, there were no details. I think it should be disclosed before arriving since it was almost $300. Our room had AC and hot buffet breakfast was included with your stay. No TV in our room. Property is beautiful and there is nice scenic walking path along the water. Mini golf, paddleboarding and kayaking were additional charges.

I love this Historic Hotel! A step back in time. Antique furnished rooms. The desk staff is very efficient and helpful. Great food in the restaurant. Depending what is going on in town beware parking is not always available close to the hotel. Within walking distance to shops, the dock and Hoover Auditorium. A very quiet relaxing place.

I was a party of one, attending a conference on the Lakeside grounds. The room I had, 526, was a very nice room, with a quiet air conditioner. It was nicely appointed, with a very comfortable bed. It did not have a television, which I didn't really have time to watch anyway. The hotel has more than ample space for relaxing on the porch and watching the lake. The breakfast was excellent, served as a buffet. For this relaxing and comfortable setting, I'll return again and again.
