Hotel Hermiston OR (Now Closed) - Motel in Hermiston - 655 N 1st St, USA

We were traveling from Montana to California and had to find a place to stop and sleep for the night. First, we both got up and took showers at 8:30 in the morning and neither one of us had a warm shower let alone hot. Then my boyfriend had you going down to smoke a cigarette and when he came back up, he did not close the door all the way, but pushed it to. We do this often as we travel on the road for two years as utility inspectors in and out of propel room and we go out and smoke periodically so we just leave the room door pushed. After coming back up to the room, he got on a very important meeting, and I put the do not disturb sign on the outside of the door. During the meeting he was on I was putting on my make up and standing in front of the vanity right inside the door and the door came flying open. Housekeeping said do you need towels or sheets and I said the door says do not disturb and she said it was not closed all the way. I said, but it says do not disturb, and you just shoved our door you didn’t even knock or anything. She said, but the door was open so I threw the door open and said no this is open. The door was closed pushed to and had a do not disturb sign on it. She’s said well do you need sheets or towels and I shut the door. Also, when I booked this hotel on the Hopper app, it told me that it would be $58 when I got there. It was $67 plus tax and then they ended up charging me $15 because I have a service animal which was nonrefundable for cleaning. I have researched this and it is illegal to charge a cleaning deposit for a service animal. They charged $100 deposit which was refundable in the morning. We ended up paying $100 for this room that was including the pet cleaning deposit and $100 for the deposit which was refunded in the morning. I would not stay here again as they did not abide by what was promised they also charged a pet cleaning deposit we got cold showers and I had an argument with the housekeeper. No, I did not ask, but they also did not offer to refund one red sound after selling them. Everything that happened with the cold showers and all. I will say the rooms are in decent shape for a one night stay however, this hotel was not fancy and did not have nice views. There were quite a few drug addicts in the parking lot. In fact, one of them was flying a drone at midnight over our pick up so we had to empty everything in the bed and put it in the cab and lock it up.

This was a last resort for booking and the reservation/deposit fee was way too much. Isn’t it enough commitment when I paid In full for the night? That means I’m showing up because I paid. Also I was super grateful I took pictures before I settled in for the night because the door frame inside the restroom was broken, the walls were scratched, one of the lamps wasn’t working and when I showed the women that checked me in they both looked clueless as to what I was talking about and I showed them the picture and they said oh don’t worry we won’t charge you for that! While they were asking each other if they had checked the room before we had gone in. I had then told both of them they wouldn't be charging me because I didn’t do it! Definitely NOT booking here again.

Very comfortable rooms at a reasonable rate! There were indeed people that liked to hang out outside their rooms at night, but they weren’t a huge issue. Several people hung around in the parking lot almost daily, but I’m not from this area so I wasn’t sure if that’s a normalcy. Despite that, my girlfriend and I enjoyed our stay and the staff were friendly and helpful!

After a full day of driving, I am greeted with this facility. An odor that baffles description hits your nose in the hallways after having to use a key card just to enter the building. Upon reaching our room there is a nice narcotic smell. It's always there but at least it's subtle. Taking a shower was mildly annoying as the temperature refused to stabilize for the 10 minutes of hot water you get from a trickle stream. Once I get to the bed and flop down, I'm greeted with a mild concussive impact. It has no give to it. To the point I lifted the sheet to see if it was actually a mattress. I turn on the TV. For a hotel they have a super limited cable package. So I laid on my bed for the night reflecting on how I was shaken down for a cash deposit on the room. Regardless of having a credit card on file with my reservation. 100 bucks that was never returned for reasons beyond me. The walls are thin enough to hear everything happening behind every wall. From domestic disputes to good old fashioned traffic. It reminded me of house parties in my youth. When you try to sleep in a room full of strangers. The location is decent with plenty of Mexican food choices around. Unless you are brave enough for the Chinese in the parking lot. I wasn't.

This last stay was horrible compared to my last few stays. 1st off was given a room and walked in and it was trashed and not clean and I believe it was someone else’s room that never was cleaned, called down and front desk lady was even apologetic and told me to come back and she would get me a different room (which is rude, come bring me a new key, I’m toting several bags and a cooler). Go get one and it’s upstairs and the opposite side… room was musky and bathroom door was broke and missing the trim. The bathtub doesn’t have slip mats and I twisted my ankle and if I have to get seen I will be suing for the medical bill and damage. I called down to get an extra blanket because they have sheet thin blankets, front desk told me to give her 30 mins and it took over an hr to get it. Ridiculous.

Positive: Clean and attempts made to make it look modern Negative: Wifi kept disconnecting and mattress not secured to bed frame. It just slid around, pillows kept going between the mattress and wall

Positive: Good price and location. Negative: When I got there to register the lady said she needed $100 deposit. I told her I had to move money and needed my phone. I went to get it and while I did this she took the money from my card causing me to be overdrawn. When I got back a minute. I asked her Negative: ""
