The Historic Fortney Lounge is a relaxed atmosphere with good food and great drinks in a unique setting that showcases much of the building's rich history.
This is our 3rd trip to Hotel Fortney and I hope there are many many more trips in our future. Hotel Fortney is one of the most beautiful and nicest hotels we have ever stayed in. The attention to detail in the room decor is unmatched, the rooms are spacious and absolutely gorgeous. The beds are very very comfortable and the bathroom is amazing with heated floors and a wonderful and spacious shower. The owners did an absolutely incredible job of restoring the building and kept many details of the original beauty the building once was which adds to the aesthetic and welcoming atmosphere. The lounge is also one of those places you can’t wait to visit time and time again - comfortable, welcoming and beautiful. Great staff, cute little town and absolutely wonderful hotel.
We had an excellent stay at Hotel Fortney. I enjoyed learning about the storied history of the place and could see how much care (and expense) has been put into the recent renovation. The room was very spacious and quiet, the beds are comfortable, and the bathroom is fantastic with heated floors and more. Being next to two well regarded restaurants is a real bonus too. There is a creative approach to providing refrigeration and coffee in a lovely shared space with high ceilings and great sunlight through large windows, and we found it to be community building, with games and a large table available. The vibe is an excellent mix of modern, historic, elegant, and whimsical. We will stay there again!
We had a great stay at Hotel Fortney. The place is absolutely gorgeous and beautifully redone. Our room was comfortable and the guest lounge was unexpectedly wonderful. We had drinks and dinner in the downstairs lounge; the food was delicious and I loved the cocktails (both alcoholic and N/A). The check-in process was seamless. Looking forward to another stay!
Our stay at the Hotel Fortney was amazing! This is one of the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The bed is comfy, the bathroom is lovely (heated floors and an amazing shower!) and the amenities are so thoughtful. Fresh coffee + muffins in the morning was the best. The location is great and we loved having cocktails and snacks at the Lounge. Front desk staff was phenomenal as well! I can’t recommend this place enough.
We had a lovely stay at this gorgeous hotel! The room was comfortable and spacious. The extra finishes went a long way—including the heated bathroom floors, lush carpeting and phenomenal shower. We appreciated the delicious local coffee and muffins provided at breakfast! We enjoyed spending time at the lounge for a drink or for dinner. Every staff member was so friendly! We hope to return the next time we are in the area!
One of the nicest places I've stayed. The rooms are elegant and spacious. The bathroom has heated floors that feel incredible. The bed was huge. Coffee and blueberry muffins in the morning were incredible. The check in/out process was very modern and easy. The location is great, surrounded by all of the downtown shops in Viroqua. And I really liked the chairs in our room. They did it right. My only regret was we were not able to hang out in the bar downstairs because it looked so fun inside.
What an AMAZING hotel! So much thought & care was put into the renovation. Rooms and common space are beautifully appointed and comfortable. We spent time in the lounge before dinner - what a beautiful space and such good food and drinks! Live music outside was a pleasant suprise. We're already planning our next visit.
What a great place! From check in to dinner and drinks at “the Lounge “ it was top notch! The hotel is beautifully thought out and decorated. The room/bed was comfortable and the shower was outstanding. Love the sink! The upstairs kitchen is so cool too. They really thought about it when this put this place back together. We will definitely be back.
Great out of the way place ! The scenery is fantastic. Great service. I had the rib eye sandwich and potato salad, for 11 bucks. The potato salad was fabulous along with the ribeye. I highly recommend seeking out this place. Can't forget to men
They had a pump & tools for bikes outside. Beautiful seating area outside, garden area, a place to get something to eat inside. Lots of good stuff inside. Prices on somethings are not too bad. Handicap parking & entrance.
This is one of the best little rock shops around! Always friendly service, plenty of awesome and interesting rocks and minerals. I will always go here for as long as they are opened. Also, some cards dont like to work when checking out, so to make it
My wife and I stopped here for lunch while we were on a motorcycle ride on 11-6. Cool looking place inside, and the food was excellent! I got the sampler platter, you can choose up to 3 different ones, and my wife got the mushroom and swiss burger.
