Best location right in the action of the boardwalk which is just a short walk! Valet was great, the complimentary breakfast was excellent; serving scrambled eggs, potatoes, pancakes, muffins, toast/bagels, yogurt w/granola & a fruit salad. Juices and option for morning cocktails. The rooftop bar/seating area does have a great panoramic of the surrounding. Rooms are comfortable but there is absolutely no privacy in bathroom. Sliding frosted door with cracks on side, simply provide no privacy whatsoever, especially if traveling with kids or teenagers! You just make do. The hotel does offer beach towels, umbrellas, chairs, bikes, waters.....you just ask the front desk for it!
I recently brought my son to Venice Beach for his birthday since he loves to skateboard and surf. We stayed at the Hotel Erwin, and it truly made our experience better than we could have imagined. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, providing bikes, beach towels, sunscreen, and anything else we needed, all included in the price of our room. Our room was clean, comfortable, and offered a beautiful view of the beach. I highly recommend Hotel Erwin for anyone looking to enjoy a perfect Venice Beach vacation. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay!||
The hotel is of a good standard, nothing overly special about the rooms but not a bad place neither. For an adult family sharing a room the bathroom wasn’t overly private so that is something to keep in mind if you are travelling with someone you don’t know that well. The staff are all very friendly and approachable. The house keeping lady although she couldn’t speak a lot of English she did an amazing job keeping the room clean and she actually used chemicals to clean with which is better than you see in some better known hotels especially back home in Australia! The real gem of this place is having a rooftop bar that no other hotel seems to have in the area. The only negative is the area it is in, during the day it felt fine but at night it didn’t feel overly safe.
This is a very busy district, but not in a business sense. It’s in a fun vacation and surf mode. It’s about walking, biking, swimming great food and incredible views from the roof top restaurant and bar and I was able to have my dog with me the whole time - that was the best!
Better than expected. Great service overall. Great location. Their rooftop bar does over crowd the area and only having one elevator to share does make it inconvenient to guests. But the staff does treat you with priority will be booking here next time.
Had an amazing experience at Erwin. Staff is beyond friendly and are always available to help. Breakfast in the morning is perfect as a way to start your day. The location offers such a quick trip to the beach and they provide beach towels for you, which is a bonus. The High bar on the roof top is unbeatable 💯

Hotel Erwin was exactly what we were hoping for. The staff were superb, the rooftop lounge was excellent (although due to the influx of people who were not guests of the hotel using the elevator to get to the roof we had to use the stairs more often than not). It wasn't too loud, the fresh fruit upon arrival was a welcome touch, and the complimentary access to bikes/towels/boards was wonderful. The hotel shampoo repaired my beachy ends beautifully and the breakfast (repetitive and a little bland) was well cooked and always hot. The only downside was that if you didn't choose valet parking ($$) and chose street parking you end up almost a kilometer (half a mile) away. With children and luggage, it was difficult to say the least. But overall, a nine out of ten!
I'll start with the staff were very helpful and the room was clean. No complaints in these areas. ||In fact, I have few complaints at all. But neither can I think of any specific reasons to recommend this hotel. It wasn't cheap, it wasn't luxurious, it's on venice beach which is fun but so are many other hotels, and the food served its purpose but wasn't exceptional. You could do worse. I gave it a review of "average" because that about sums up my experience.||No regrets, but also, no specific recommendation for this hotel. I may stay here again if I can't find something better next time.
