What an amazing experience! I read the reviews score arrival and almost got cold feet to cancel , but we didn’t and I am so grateful we did not! From pulling up the staff are attentive, check in smoothly - customer service oriented to beautiful clean lobby area and bar. Our room was simply amazing! Clean , comfy and and beautiful view. Yea everyone has their own opinions, but seriously what more could you ask for ?? We will definitely be back to this beautiful place. Only thing I will say if you ask for recommendations to restaurants they will only give you what is listed on their property not outside of the property. Shuttle picks you up right in front and drops you right at the beach to get your Free beach and umbrella rentals. This property has so much to offer and does not charge an arm and leg for everything like some other resorts! Glad we found this place!!!

Great location for a conference and a great location for a few days of vacation afterwards. The facilities are great. The food was wonderful and the service was always very thoughtful. We indulged ourselves with a spa visit and thoroughly enjoyed it. Everyone who comes here should enjoy the spot as well.|

The property is so convenient to Baytowne Wharf and the beaches. From the time we pulled in the bell men were ready to assist. The lobby was just beautiful with the fresh flowers and cookies. The scent was so lovely throughout the hotel. The room was very well appointed. The bed was so comfortable I didn’t want to get up but the beach was calling. The pillows were so fluffy. The robes and slippers were a very nice touch. The lobby had cucumber and lime or some combination of water for guests. The staff was helpful and kind. The rooftop pool was very beautiful. Had a great view and delicious cocktails. The bartenders knew their stuff. They offer quality spirits. The hotel offers 2 complimentary beach chairs and an umbrella daily and bicycles. I love ed this place and cannot wait to stay there again. They also have shuttle service for the resort, so park and ride free. We didn’t take many pic but believe me, you will not be disappointed.

I'm disappointed by the changes made by Marriott. Upon arrival we were not greeted with complimentary beverages as we were in previous stays. Also the cleanliness of our bathroom was not up to par with hair left behind in the shower. Extremely disappointment with not having the direct bus route to the beach along with no private beach access however we did appreciate the complimentary beach chairs given. Also was disappointed to hear that most kitchen staff was fired and they were short handed during the holiday weekend. Rooftop closed at 9pm on a weekend night was frustrating also. I hope that this hotel does not take a decline or we will have to research different accommodates for our next holiday weekend.

The hotel is nice, but not impressive. There is no beach at the hotel - only a shuttle to a crowded public beach that was disgusting. Ovide restaurant was passable, but not enjoyable. Our party agreed it was not worth making a repeat trip. My largest complaint is that the hotel has a policy of charging guest $1/day for a undisclosed "charity donation" that I was not told about when I booked the hotel or when I checked-in. I had to discover it on my folio and waste an hour of my time over multiple phone calls to get refunded. (At some point, I was told that it is disclosed on their website, but I never saw it...) No hotel, regardless of the reason, should be charging their guest unauthorized charges. If the owner(s) wanted to make a donation to a charity, the owner(s) could make that choice. They shouldn't be scamming money out of their guests to make donations to an undisclosed charity whose mission their guests may or may not agree with.

Our overall experience at Hotel Effie was excellent. We particularly enjoyed having an exceptional breakfast each morning in the hotel restaurant, partially because the food was so good but also because we had a server, David, who was attentive to our every need. I don’t function before multiple cups of coffee in the morning and as soon as I finished my last sip he was back to pour a fresh cup. We don’t often have the pleasure of this level of service and found it to be a very pleasant way to start our day. Our thanks to the hotel for having such an excellent employee!!

Check in was broke, room service would not answer, front desk as well . Only highlight Valet Attendants ! Although the app to call for your car checked us out two days early. No other way to call Valet Stand. Internet out 1/2 the time. No TV. 4 days 3000 dollars and no receipt that was suppose to be emailed. Cant always be this Bad ! Traveled many places! Never felt compelled to write a negative review. Minimum somebody answer the phones! Pool was good too. Do better people that's a lot of money for a high price hotel with 1 star service!

Had a wonderful stay at the hotel. Used it as a one night stop in a longer trip but was very pleased with everything about it. I'm someone who can be very particular when it comes to accommodations and there wasn't anything I disliked at this resort. The complimentary fresh cookies at check-in and the complimentary bottle of red in the room were nice touches. As was the lavazza espresso machine in room. The staff we encountered were all very pleasant and the bedding was perfectly comfortable. There is also a great little shipping and dining area right and the corner to walk to and enjoy waterfront dining with live music! Would recommend this hotel for sure.
