Absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Dena! Staff was courteous and friendly, room was clean. Bed was so comfortable I never wanted to leave it! The decor is absolutely adorable and unique! The restaurant was great for breakfast, the bar area was so cute!
The area was nice and we felt safe walking around. Starbucks right around the corner, and many shops and restaurants a little further down.
We will definitely be back!
My partner and I stayed here twice! The first stay was very nice. Staff was friendly, rooms were clean and looked great, especially the bathroom! Our second stay wasn’t so great because the front desk staff was not very friendly. We also feel as though the price for parking in the garage is way too high. It costs 30 dollars! So if you think you’ve got a good deal for your stay, include the cost of parking. You could park in residential areas as the area is safe but I would only recommend doing so if you do not have valuables in your car. Other than that, Hotel Dena is great but I would only stay here if I found a good deal for a room.
Between 3 and 4 stars. Service was really good, and breakfast was decent. The lobby area is cozy. Everything looks recently renovated, which is nice. However, for this price I expect better cleaning: our carpet had days old food stains on it and the curtains and walls were stained as well. The room had a moldy odor to it, probably because of the old curtains and carpets. The bathroom did not have a functioning air vent, which did not improve the overall damp smell.
Overall it was ok, but definitely not worth the price.
Hotel Dena, loved the area and how close it was to the places that I wanted to go to. Checking in was smooth, they were able to accommodate us by placing us on the same level as other people in our party. The room was a decent size, beds were comfy and clean. The bathroom was underwhelming, with barely any space to place your belongings because there was no counter space. Housekeeping - honestly we usually keep our do not disturb sign up due to trust issues with people and our belongings and privacy but this trip we did not. Mind you, I had bought some items for feminine products and when I had returned to my room I could not find the two packages while I was packing my belongings. Also, unfortunately we left behind an item that was pretty pricey and meaningful to us. We tried to contact the hotel multiple times after checkout, the call would not go through it would repeat the hotels phone number and disconnect. I also tried to chat with them on the app, and no response back. As well as customer service, and still haven’t heard any response back. This is very disappointing as we are bonvoy members, if I did not have this experience I would definitely book again due to the convenience of the location. But due to the series of events and service I will not be returning as there has been no resolution.
A Pleasant Stay in Pasadena Close to Old Town
I stayed at this hotel over the 4th of July weekend and, as a Gold Elite member, was pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a larger room and was granted late check out.
Checking in was convenient as you can park in the alcove before deciding on parking options. The hotel offers garage parking for $15 (event parking for 18 hours) or $30 for in-and-out access, for which you'll need to get a pass from the hotel.
The service at the hotel was exceptionally friendly and great, making my stay even more enjoyable. The room itself was no-frills, but the bed was among the best I’ve ever slept in—truly excellent. It seems that all the rooms have been recently renovated, adding new decor to the accommodations.
The pool, while on the smaller side, was heated and provided a relaxing spot for a quick dip. There are bars and restaurants on-site, though we didn't try them because there are plenty of dining options nearby. The hotel can be a bit tricky to find as the entrance is almost in a back alley. However, just follow the signs for the convention center and you'll get there easily. Its proximity to various restaurants and attractions makes it a convenient choice for visitors.
Overall, I would definitely recommend a stay here. Despite its unassuming appearance, the hotel offers great comfort and convenience. I would certainly stay here again when visiting Pasadena.
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights.
The staff was super friendly and helpful. If I could I would rate them 10.
BUT the room was super small considering we booked for a family of three. The bathroom had no working fan so imagine the moist and the smell. The air conditionner was placed one meter from the bed head! The constant cold and noise didnt allow us a well needed sleep. And also we got a dirtly towel, hair on the ceiling and no room cleaning on our first night of stay plus no garbage pick up on all three nights! So if you are staying on weekends or a longer period this hotel was way overpriced for the service.
I stayed in the "Bi-Level Loft King" room on the 1st floor for 2 nights while in town for a business meeting. I would not classify it as a loft. There are 5 steps to go down from the entrance and bathroom to the bed. The patio left much to be desired. It is essentially a concrete walkway that extends down the length of the building. Don't have the curtains open unless you would like your neighbors to pass by and see you! The only furniture on the patio were 2 wooden chairs. The room appeared clean except for a few stray hairs in the bathroom sink and mold in the corners of the shower. The AC unit was very noisy and would not turn off - even when set to off. I ended up having to unplug it completely from the wall. The shower only had 1 door. The food in the market was very expensive - worse then some airport prices. A 1 liter bottle of Life Water for $7, a sandwich for $11 and a small bag of chips for $5. Staff interactions were pleasant. I don't feel it was worth the price and would not chose to stay here again.
Staff is lovely there, shout out to Jeremy and Rosy for making our stay so comfortable and warm. The location is accessible to lots of places in pasadena. They keep the hotel really nice. The only downsides were the pool was pretty small, also limited food options in the hotel restaurant / room service.

This hotel was perfect for our Rose Bowl experience!
We stayed in the one bedroom and it was plenty spacious. The couch bed was the worst part of the trip, I'd give it ZERO stars if I could. But I had to sleep there with no other options. If you can,

Owner/head instructor Justen Hamilton is an incredibly effective teacher and a gem of a human being. What a welcoming environment heâs created here at Modern Martial Arts.

My first time at Stretch Lab was great. Parking was easy (and validated!) in the underground structure off Fair Oaks. The space is very nice and my stretch with Nita was terrific. She was knowledgeable, professional and gave me a great stretch.
Wow! I randomly found this place and itâs fantastic. Definitely a hidden gem. Loved the asian fish and chips but unfortunately forgot to take a pic! Everything on the menu looked amazing and I will definitely be back to try something new.
