Bates hotel!!! Where do I begin? The receptionist was nice which lead me to believe it was going to be ok. I'm a senior and no elevator I believe is out of compliance for guest over 62 above the first floor. Climbing the steep stairs, I saw the absolutely FILTHY carpet! Entering the room my heart dropped to my stomach. It had a dusty, grimy heater vent, a scary tiny latch between the next room, a rip in the sofa, curtains tied in knots, a bed that screamed bed bugs and no ac. There was a communal refrigerator in the downstairs kitchen, that was so dark and questionable, with old looking food, I almost gaged.Ok so wire hangers, kind of picky, but the room looked like it hadn't changed since the depression era, seriously. I mean in that location, owners: spend some money and fix it up! I called a friend and immediately left to find another hotel. Fortunately, within the hour I had and returned to check out. I told her I wanted a refund bc of the hotel and room's condition. She said no so I disputed it with my cc and it was reversed about two months later. It was a shock to see a BH property like this and that owners are ok with it. I can only imagine what kind of activties go on here! No thank you!!!
We stayed at the hotel for 3 days. Upon entering the hotel, you are immediately greeted by the smell of old, stinky furniture, dirt, and dust. Additionally, there is a dog that permanently resides in the hotel, contributing to the unpleasant odor. The room is unbearable due to the overwhelming stench of old carpet. The blonde woman at the reception is unpleasant and rude.
The overall hygiene of the hotel is extremely poor. The common areas are not cleaned regularly. The noise levels at night are unacceptable, making it difficult to get any rest. We were highly disappointed with our stay and would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Positive: I thought this hotel was great, but I had realistic expectations. For the price point, its remarkable. The location is awesome. You can walk a block and shop at Whole Foods. You can walk .2 miles to a Starbucks, Rodeo Dr etc Negative: The decor is charming but old and musty. Not having an elevator will make you rethink your packing. The biggest downfall was the workers on the roof and the bathroom and shower room was where the workers were working on the roof. I showered in a swimsuit Negative: ""
Positive: Location, large room size, no bugs Negative: Unlocking and relocking the shared bathroom was kind of a hassle. Noise from the alley of the restaurant next door, so ask for a room on the other side.... Guy at the desk was kind of gruff, the other stuff were very nice.
Checking was fine. Room was old and musty but it was cheap so I expected that. I didn’t expect to wake up to hammering and loud talking at 6:45am. It was rainy and my room had a leak in it. I brought it up to the front desk clerk it leaked in my purse and she said “oh that sucks”.I went out for the day and came back and my luggage was soaked because the carpet was wet and the it had leaked through the walls or ceiling while I was gone. They didn’t offer to move me rooms.
The shower was a tiled closet with a drain with no place to put the clothes you walk in with. The water pooled well past my ankles. The next day I opted to dry shower because the shower was so gross.
Upon checkout I let them know the further damage to my luggage and she offered me a hair dryer 🤷🏽♀️ She asked me to pay and I had already paid on the booking site and they had no record of it. And I put a $150 deposit on my card when I got there. She looked at me like she didn’t believe me so I pulled out my booking confirmation. Wouldn’t give me a receipt because she didn’t take any payment.
The receptionist was in a really bad mood. The room smells bad, it's very old, and they don't care about anything. I don't recommend it.
Positive: The room was clean and livable, and the TV and WiFi worked well. The room clearly had lots of coats-of-paint to keep dressing it up and maybe hide some aging secrets. Negative: I was most put off by 'my' presumed dishonesty. As I checked in I was handed small items separately and loosing one would cost $50, I found out that parking was an extra $12, and that I had to sign to agree to $--- in extra charges for my $--- room. Negative: ""
Wonderful authentic hotel with an intriguing ambiance of a historical Beverly Hills mansion ; great staff and an excellent service. Also the proximity of the city centre and the location which is a prime location in Beverly Hills , is truly excellent ...
Hubby and I just stayed three nights in a king suite and really enjoyed it. Our rooms were clean and spacious and very modern. Best of all was the lively bar with Bob Dean, an entertaining bartender (you'll make his day if you ask for a "rusty nai
