Hotel Bethany Beach - Hotel in Bethany Beach - 39642 Jefferson Bridge Rd, USA

We were looking for an easy beach vacation where we could bring our toddler and dog and this place was perfect for that. Tons of other families and the dog fee was only $150 for the whole stay (we were there a week so well worth it). The rooms were spacious and very clean, which is ultimately the one thing I care about most. You had free mini-golf on-site (with dinosaurs no less!), a pool (with a shower so you can go for a swim and clean up) and free chairs and umbrellas at the beach - a 6-min walk from the hotel. Free hot breakfast that although not gourmet was perfect for a family and always bustling (scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes, etc). Give you beach towels as well. There's also a laundry room and they give you free detergent. The staff were awesome - nice and always eager to help - and were quick to bring you whatever you needed. The only downside is that you have to pay for house keeping, and that should be much clearer on the website since it's unusual for a hotel. You have to leave your towels, sheets, trash in the hall and they'll pick them up. Then either go to the desk or call up for replacements that you put back yourself (not a big deal for towels but annoying when half way through the week we wanted to refresh the bed). And it means you have to be super careful to not bring sand back to your room otherwise you are stuck with a sandy room or have to pay $25 for someone to clean it. We would gladly stay here again, lack of house keeping and all.

Everything was just right. The room was comfy and clean. The front desk was helpful. The breakfast was delightful. The employee that made the biggest impact was a white lady, with blonde hair and glasses and she worked in the cafe. She was very warm and friendly with some good advice

Always love this hotel! Super clean and friendly. I stay here every time I travel to Bethany! The cookies at check in are delicious! The rooms are super clean and quiet. I appreciated the microwave and fridge too. The smart tv is an added bonus and worked fine with my firestick!

We had a great experience! The front desk staff was accommodating and courteous! The breakfast hit the spot! The pillows were perfect! Loved the shampoo and conditioner too. Would definitely come back.

There's a $10 parking fee for each night. When you book on your phone, on their website it doesn't say that. They sent me a text the same day I was to check in making me aware that I would not have housekeeping services during my stay. If it was something I needed I'd have to pay $25. I had made my reservation weeks in advance, no one reached out and told me this. The room was clean and the hotel is located a block from the beach. I stayed 3 nights. There is a Walgreens right next to with within walking distance which was great. They offer a big breakfast and they switch it up every day. Overall I was disappointed in the lack of communication but the staff was friendly and the room was clean. I'd stay here again but I know to ask more questions the next time.

The beds were very firm which I love. The bathrooms were decorated nicely. The walls are a little thin….. can’t imagine how loud it would be in the summertime filled up!||Matthew has EXCEPTIONAL customer service. He was great to deal with.||All in all a great experience.

I booked my reservation for a King bed room with a jacuzzi tub on May 13, 2023. When I checked in on August 16, 2023, it was a King bed room. Upon informing the desk staff that we were in the wrong room, they stated that the hotel had changed owners approximately two years earlier. The staff member stated that at that time, all of the jacuzzi tubs had been removed. After being told I must have booked on an old site, I showed them my confirmation email from Hotel Bethany Beach which clearly states a King jacuzzi room. The staff member I spoke to said she would speak to the supervisor. I received a call a short while later stating they would waive the parking fee to compensate for the room not having a jacuzzi tub. The parking fee was $25 a day and we paid for three nights. I thought it was nice they were trying to make up for the website error. When I checked out, I was still charged the full amount of the King jacuzzi room, a room that doesn’t exist. I questioned why I wasn’t charged the correct rate for the room I had stayed in and was told that the parking fee being waived made up for that. However, when I had checked the website for the room rates when we arrived, I was charged over a hundred dollars a night for the room I stayed in. I am extremely disappointed that not only was the website incorrect in May, but also that I was overcharged a rate that was much higher than I should have been. Also, the following fees are based on a percentage: Community – Social Impact Fee – 1% County Tax – 3% Destination Marketing Fee – 1% Occupancy – State Lodging Tax – 8% Resort Fee – 15% These fees were also overcharged since they were based on the incorrect room rate. I have asked the hotel to make this right by refunding my credit card the overcharge on the room rate for the three nights, plus the amount I was overcharged on the percentage-based fees. I have heard nothing from them to date.

The place was clean and the staff was great but the management engaged in fraudulent business. There were hidden fees and taxes that were never disclosed upon arrival, especially the daily parking fees which were added after departure. There’s a big parking lot next to the hotel which easily accommodates its guests but despite that, they charge $25/ night to park there. If we would’ve been made aware of that, we would’ve parked elsewhere. Read the fine print!
