Location is perfect for walking to dinner and around Lake Tahoe. Parking is hard in town so having a place to park and be able to get around easily was perfect. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Given that the hotel is right on highway 50, we didn't hear anything once we were in our room, it was very quiet and made it easy to sleep. I would stay here again. Thank you!

I recently stayed at Hotel Becket and found it to be a great value stay. The location was fantastic, right in the heart of South Lake Tahoe. The walkability of this motel cannot be beat! The rooms were small and simple, but they were clean, comfortable, and quiet, which is exactly what I needed for a short stay. Plus, I appreciated the free parking, outdoor relaxation areas, and complimentary breakfast. If you're looking for a no-frills, affordable place to stay, I'd definitely recommend Hotel Becket.

We booked Hotel Becket and chose our room based on the pictures online. Once we got there, they told us our reservation was actually for a sister property behind Hotel Becket (Blue Tahoe Hotel). The rooms looked nothing like what we booked. The building was a total dump. They slapped reclaimed wood on a dark and dingy building and called it good. It smelled terrible and several things in our room were broken. The pool was nice. The free breakfast was not good. Eggs and bacon were burnt each morning, the oatmeal was basically water, and one morning breakfast was delayed 2 hours. They also denied us some amenities because we weren't staying in the "real" Hotel Becket even though that is what we booked and what our reservation said.

I recently stayed at Hotel Beckett, and I can confidently say it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. We spent over a thousand dollars on this stay, and what we got in return was beyond disappointing. The issues started in the bathroom. The shower head wasn’t just dripping—it was spraying water everywhere, flooding the bathroom floor. My significant other had to fix it himself, and it’s a good thing he’s a plumber because it was absurd that we had to deal with such a situation at a hotel. The seals on the shower however keep no water in so you'll end up with a floured bathroom anyways and a big puddle in the corner. The shower itself was falling apart, with random parts on the floor that clearly didn’t belong there. To top it off, the bathroom was filthy, covered in hair, including pubic hair, from previous guests. The lack of cleanliness and maintenance was appalling. The bathroom layout was also incredibly unsafe. The glass shower door is so close to the toilet that one wrong move could cause it to shatter. This is a serious safety issue that the hotel should address immediately. The bedding was just as bad. The sheets and comforters were dirty and stained, which made me seriously question whether they had been changed at all between guests. Trying to sleep in such an unsanitary environment was impossible. Our problems didn’t end there. The key card to our room stopped working multiple times during our stay, forcing us to constantly go back to the front desk to have it reactivated. This added to the already frustrating experience. The parking situation was another major issue. Despite paying for parking, there were no spots available. People without parking passes were taking up spaces, and when we brought this to the staff’s attention, they just said, “We try our best to clear out the parking.” This is simply unacceptable when you’re paying for a service that isn’t being provided. To make matters worse, the breakfast experience on our third day was a complete disaster. For the first two days, we had no issues getting breakfast. But on the third day, the staff suddenly insisted that we show a special card to prove we were eligible. When we showed them our room card, they refused to accept it and made us go back to our room to retrieve a small piece of paper they supposedly gave us at check-in. After dealing with all the other issues, this was the last thing we needed. When we expressed our frustration, the staff rudely told us, “You guys are just in a bad mood.” The dismissive and unprofessional attitude was completely uncalled for. It feels like the hotel is more focused on running the bar than on maintaining the rooms or ensuring guest satisfaction. Their priorities are clearly misplaced. After experiencing all of this, I looked at other reviews and realized that these problems are not isolated incidents. There are tons of similar complaints, yet the hotel seems content to ignore them, offering nothing but empty apologies and a weak “hope you’ll try us again.” It’s clear they’re not interested in making any real improvements. Overall, Hotel Beckett was a massive disappointment. The poor maintenance, lack of cleanliness, unhelpful staff, and constant inconveniences made for a truly miserable stay. I strongly advise against staying here. We definitely won’t be coming back, and I hope this review helps others avoid the same mistake.

The location and room is incredible considering the proximity to the village and all the casinos in the area. The staff who checked us in was very kind and professional. However, after a night out, we found that our room key wasn't working at 2am in the morning, leaving us stranded outside. There were no staff on site, and despite numerous attempts of calls, we were greeted with rude and unprofessional attitude by one of the staff (and her boyfriend). They were disgruntled and claimed that the system was down, so we'd have to wait an additional 15mins before we could access our room. All in all, it was a nice stay, clean facility, and good location. But the staff who hanlded our situation needs to be disciplined.

I do not recommend this place if your expecting high end hotel. -Double charged. Took several call backs to get rectified. Had to call bank to verify each time. In the end it was refunded however it tied up $685 dollars on my card for about 7 days. -Rooms smell like pee, mold, and bunch of other unidentifiable odors. -Shower head was set to a height for a 3.5 ft person and when adjusting broke and shot water everywhere. -Toilet seat looked like it was dragged behind a car for 20 miles. -Key cards had to be reset twice and still didn't work right. Sometimes would open on first try, sometimes on the 17th. This typically would just be an annoyance and we wouldn't think twice about it. However during our stay a bear had wandered into the area and was frequenting the hotel nightly. Being able to get into the room in a hurry was pretty paramount. -Breakfast was not good. Eggs burned and whatever the meat was (I didn't try it) looked pretty gross. -Getting dinner to go one night at the bar and witnessed several people coming up stating their meat smelled "funny". I asked one of the people if I could smell it and it seemed fine to me. The gentleman who smoked the meat was there and seemed very capable in his job. Burger was pretty good so take this part as you will. -We were with a large group of people all staying in separate rooms and all had similar issues with everything listed. Several even had the double charging issue. -Additionally on the trips to get the cards fixed there was other guests at the front desk expressing similar issues. -Everyone at this place was very vocal about "Best western" buying them out. So I am not sure if the problem is Best Western or if Best western is unaware of the situation. I did receive a lengthy review from Best Western which I filled out and never heard anything again. -After getting home and calling the front desk about the double charge, I asked for a manger. (wasn't on duty) Asked for a call back, which never happened. My last call back, I was rude, my patients with this place is shot. Charlie at the front desk ended the call with "cool" and hung up. I have never had all these type of issues ever happen at a hotel before all on the same trip. We don't get to travel much so this was a pretty huge disappointment. Maybe one day this place will get its act together as I feel it has great potential. Unfortunately the damage has been done, after all the time waisted, the annoyances, the lack of communication from the management, We will not be using this hotel or any Best western property again.

Location was nice and staff were friendly enough but that’s about it. The beds were extremely hard which caused me to wake up at least 5-10 times a night so after 3 nights I felt like I barely slept at all. There was no microwave so reheating food from the fridge wasn’t possible. Stains and marks all over the floors. The modern swinging door looked nice but didn’t seal off the bathroom so you could see in from the sides and any smell made inside comes out especially to the bed that is practically attached to the bathroom door. The shower was nice, too small for most people but I didn’t mind the size, the only problem was the fact that the door doesn’t seal in any way so you turn the floor into a swimming pool after every use. And apparently within the last few years daily room service doesn’t exist anymore so you have to go ask the front desk for towels every day and no one comes to pick up the older ones so you have a mountain of towels stuffed around the bathroom. All of this I could have looked the other way but what made me annoyed enough to make a review was the sad execution of their free breakfast. Breakfast is technically from 7am-10am. No matter what time I showed up they had no food or next to no food. If you don’t want to sleep in on your vacation and get there the second they open you’ll probably be fine. First morning was the best and actually had options around 8:50-9:00 but they were out of bacon and said they weren’t making any more and apparently, as I came to find out, that was their 1 bacon day of the whole week. Second morning I got their earlier to try to get some bacon (8:30am) and they didn’t serve bacon, were completely out of eggs and sausage and had no bagels or muffins so I had to have cereal and yogurt as that was the only thing available. Last morning not only was it Monday and everyone was gone but also got there around 7:45am thinking there would be no way they didn’t have food, only to find waffles, which I didn’t feel like sugar at 7am, overcooked sausage with no bagels or anything else so again another consecutive disappointment. After doing the math of how much money they charge and the sea of guests they had they were easily making 30k-40k every night making around 100k every weekend during the summer and they couldn’t spend any of that money to actually have food up until 10am? Completely disappointing and not worth the price, not recommended on pretty much every single aspect. Hopefully when they remodel during the winter they get their act together.

They charged you the resort fee without letting you know beforehand when booking. Also, the room was messy. Trust me, you can find lots of better hotels in South Tahoe of roughly the same prize. I would rather give it zero star if I could! To the response from the owner: What I deserve is a refund of the resort fee rather than a talk. Thx!

The place is really nice, the water is crystal clear but very cold. It's worth it to pay the $5.00 fee to see this beautiful place. In the middle of it there's an old house, scary but beautiful.

The Mt. Tallac trail is an amazing trail to hike in Lake Tahoe. It isn't easy, about 4.5 miles from the trail head to the summit with about 3,300 feet of elevation gain. The second half of the trail is mostly all rock and is very steep in parts. The
