Hotel at the Lafayette, Trademark Collection by Wyndham - Hotel in Buffalo - 391 Washington St, USA

This is our fave hotel in Buffalo. It’s close to everything. The rooms are great. The price is right and the building is gorgeous! The property was designed by pioneer female architect Louis Bethune. It was loving restored years ago and has original lobby, ballrooms, fireplaces and a huge bar. It’s a national treasure. They are planning on closing it - to make it a condo. I pray they don’t destroy all the public spaces that they spent all that money restoring!

Wonderful old hotel - beautiful conference rooms, lobby all kept up and clean and neat. Friendly staff, pleasant rooms, quiet area. The room was unique and overall the hotel was much more fun than staying in your cookie cutter new place. Would totally encourage anyone for the experience of the building to stay there. Also the coffee shop in the lobby is very cute and serves excellent coffee - although for my caffeine habit, 8am is too late!

Positive: I like that there was a brewery/restaurant downstairs. The staff at the hotel were absolutely wonderful. The room was very nice. Negative: The toilet needs updated. The seat was lopsided, loose, and missing a plastic piece exposing a screw and looked rusty (making it look dirty), and the light where the toilet was only worked sometimes. The bath tub plug did not work at all.

Awesome room, very comfy beds! (Lafayette dm me what beds you use, I wanna purchase one haha) Good location. Great service from staff. 10/10 would stay again. For those "content creators" the room has a mirror and fireplace along with a giant window by the shower. Pretty nice spot to create.

Positive: It was a cute hotel with charm. The staff were lovely and it had a great coffee shop. Negative: We were put in a room directly beside & above two reception halls that had weddings going on both nights we stayed. our room was shaking from the music and guests were coming up and down our hallway slamming the door & screaming right outside our door.

The staff were friendly, but the facility itself left a lot to be desired. We paid a large amount of money for the stay at this hotel, but I'm not sure for what. None of the outdoor seating areas were available to the guests. The thermostat in our suite barely allowed us to control the temperature. The fire place, which we paid extra for, didn't give off any heat, rather a barely-there glow that didn't even look like real fire. There were no streaming services on the television. The shower handle spun all the way around with no consistent temperature control or shut off point. The stopper on the tub needing a great deal of manipulation to get it to actually stop water for a bath. The handle on the bathroom door was barley attached and felt as though it would fall off if we tried to close the door. The room was clean and had basic amenities, as well as functional appliances. Finally, we had to pay for parking in a garage a block away. As I said earlier, I'm not sure what we paid for with this hotel. We could have easily spent a fraction of the cost to stay at a budget hotel and been provided with much more of the basic amenities.

This is a nice hotel, nice room and bar, but walls are thin and wifi didn't work. Service desk had no solution which was disappointing. I don't know if this was a one off, but it affects those that have traveled across the border.

My wife and I were there for a wedding in Buffalo, and actually at the Lafayette itself. The biggest issue was the room. Our room had the distinct smell of mildew, mold, mustiness - it was truly bad. After calling the front desk, for all intents and purposes there response was, "It's an old hotel, turn on the air conditioning." That did not work as we cranked the A/C low, and it's not great reasoning. It's a nice location, the service overall was good, it's just the room was gross.
