Hot Spell Sauna - Public sauna in Milwaukee - 636 S 6th St, USA

Nothing takes the chill off a Wisconsin winter day like sweating it out in a sauna! We got a group of friends together and came here after work on a Friday night, and it was such a relaxing experience, I felt like all the tension melted out of my body. I was concerned about being too cold while standing outside in between sessions, but it actually felt wonderfully refreshing to step out in the cool air for a few minutes. Convenient little changing hut with lockers is right next to the sauna, and there’s a cute little sitting area just outside where you can throw your coats too. We learned to go easy ladling the water - a little steam goes a long way! Very invigorating, we felt great the rest of the night, and I had the soundest sleep after. Really fun to go cool off with a cocktail from Zócalo after and hang out.

What a brilliantly rejuvenating and therapeutic experience. I would highly recommend the sauna and lake plunge event to everyone. I decided to go solo, and everyone was so kind and friendly. Jaime (owner and host ) helps guide you and makes you feel perfectly at ease through the whole experience making the event that much more magical. Such a great way the spend the morning.

Nothing beats the mind-body-spirit benefits of hot and cold contrast. Jaime and her business partner are super friendly and welcoming, and offer gentle suggestions and guidance to newcomers. I've made real friendships in community sauna sessions and can't wait to sign up again.

Both Lakefront and Zocalo experiences with Hot Spell have been wonderful. Everything is so well thought out in advance (do read through the preparation instructions on the site beforehand) that the sessions can be fully devoted to hot/cold practices. I'll continue to enjoy their mobile/location saunas when I can, and really look forward to a permanent spot!

This is such a great experience! The saunas are magical. At Zocalo you can order drinks to be delivered from the bar and there is a little outdoor place to ice off and spray down with peppermint mist. The lake plunge/sauma experience is also amazing... and Jamie (the owner) is the coolest cat. This is a not to be missed experience. Milwaukee is a much better place because of Hot Spell Sauna!

Hot Spell is the best!! After enjoying saunas in other countries, it's awesome to finally have access here in Milwaukee. I especially love the South Shore park sauna and lake plunge experiences.

My husband and I did the social sauna + cold plunge and loved it! Everyone was so friendly. And even though I was nervous to go in the lake (I hate being cold), it was an energizing experience when combined with the hot sauna, and I'm really glad we tried it. We will definitely be back!

My first time at a Hot Spell event. It was so fulfilling! The Sauna experience was immediately relaxing. Followed by a cool shower before a cold plunge into a 58 degree tub. The other participants gave me guidance on how to best manage the cold plunge which was so helpful. A fire pit and chiminea burning, a light drizzle, hazy and warm temperatures for the season. Fresh tea made with garden picked herbs, floral water for the 2nd round in the sauna, a 5-minute cupping session followed by herb brushing with eucalyptus, rosemary and parsley. All within 1 hour! And I met some really wonderful people I hope to see again at a future event. Thank you!
