This small and unassuming house sits on a small farm road leading away from the Boise Center and a lot of car dealerships along with a Walmart Superstore and a local junior college. So, it is within 2-5 minute drive or 10 minute walk to these locations, straight out the front driveway, which is convenient for buying groceries. Also, there is a major freeway exit for I-84 at this same area on the same road, Idaho Center Blvd, I believe.|The Hostel sits next to a house trailer, and is positioned to offer a easterly view of the mountains beyond Boise from the large kitchen window- great view stretching over farmlands and a nearby stream full of pleasant rushes and tall cat-o-nine tails. There is a yard in back/front, depending on which of the 4 rooms you are using, and there is nice attention given to the small pond, sitting chairs under a small porch, and a variety of nice trees, shrubs and grass. Overall, probably a very pleasant area, although it was a bit bleak when we visited in early March before Spring had sprung.|The rooms are meticulously maintained; every detail pre-thought regarding bedding and bath needs. A single large living room with a rather too-large dining room table to one side. Complimented with a matching set of Victorian-styled over-stuffed couch and loveseat that we sunk deeply into until we just simply took cushions from one sofa and built more solid resting positions on the other sofa. Perhaps swap these oldie but goodie pieces for some more firm or upright pieces?|The kitchen is very LARGE, and has no island where one would be most useful. But the appliances are perfect, the fridge large, the cupboards very well stocked, and then newness of the tile counter and fresh paint is impressive.|Plenty of nice literature of the environs, Wifi access too simple :0) and the world map is fun to search as well.||This is a very nice accommodation and we highly recommend it as an option to the glut of mainstream major brand hotels along the freeway corridor. Clean, quiet, well-appointed. ||
I was staying here for Christmas Eve, on my way towards Utah for snowboarding so I needed something cheap and easy. Did a little bit of googling and found this place! Super comfortable and cute. Location is beautiful if you love vast soft nature landscapes instead of the concrete walls of the city. The parking lot was shoveled and the owners were very close by for any help. And since this was winter, the hostel was very warm and cozy. Loved it!
This was a fantastic hostel. I was in Idaho for the night and wanted a reasonably-priced place to stay near the Boise area; Hostel Boise was an excellent choice. The manager took care of me right away and showed me around--everything was very clean and comfortable, the kitchen was large and equipped with a tea kettle, cutlery, etc., and the living room and porch sitting areas were cozy. The hostel is on a reasonably busy road but tucked away, so it feels both private and safe (which is nice if you're traveling solo, like I was). It felt like staying in someone's house instead of a 12-bed dorm room, which was wonderful. I would absolutely stay here again and definitely recommend it to others.
It is a small home style hostel basically a residence with bunk beds in the bedrooms. Very clean and well maintained overall. Its best used by individual travelers or small families as it has very limited capacity. Only one bathroom!. Most suitable for road-trip travelers with their own car as it's a short drive away from the Interstate Highway 84 reachable only by car. I found it to be a great quiet and inexpensive place for a shower and overnight sleepover after several hours of driving. If you're hungry make sure to dine at the restaurants along the highway before going there, or bring your own food to cook at the well equipped kitchen. There is no one at the front desk only a phone number to call so you need a cell phone to call to the manager if you just drive up, but they may also be around at the home building on the same property.
Stayed here overnight. Everything about it is quiet and cozy. It's very clean and inviting, a little off the beaten path yet still close to civilization. Jenn was super nice and accommodating. It's a goldilocks hostel - just right! Would stay here again and would recommend.
Got there to check in. The main house was very dirty. Kitchen messy. Alcohol all over and signs up that said no alcohol.
It was late so we decided to stay in the studio. No toilet paper. Garbage in the drawer next to the bed. Can opener didn’t work but they brought a working one.
All in all pretty unhappy with this visit.
Great for multiple families that want to share a kitchen and barbecue. Comfortable layout. Big covered patio area and some trees give enough shade. No dogs allowed, but mosquitoes a plenty...lose a star. The creek behind property isn't fit for any recreation, but their is a camp fire!
You couldn't ask for a better place to kick up your feet! Not far from the interstate, but far enough away that it is very peaceful! Clean, great value, nice outdoor spaces to relax, very friendly and accommodating!! A nice home away from home feel!
