Super Nachos were excellent, big portion which was just right for a big appetite. My wife's small wet burrito was delicious she said and just the right amount. The dining area was very clean with cool decor. A mix of rustic up north and college sports. Our server was attentive and friendly.
We've been patronizing Hoppies for more than 15 years. It is definitely one of our go-to places in the area. They have a pretty extensive menu, and the food is without question better than your typical bar food. Some of my fav's: fish & chips, seafood burrito, and you can't go wrong with any one of their specialty burgers with some waffle (hoppie) fries.
Our server, Bella was friendly and provided great service. This was my first time at the tavern and the atmosphere was fun, lively and welcoming. The food was delicious and good for the price! Highly recommend and I will be going back when I am in the area!

The inside is larger than it appears and has sitting for big and small groups. We had 13 of us and they were accommodating, service was quick & attentive too. Food was good - we had a pizza appetizer and the wet burrito (very tasty & came out piping hot)!
What a great way to spend the end of a beautiful Sunday in Northern Michigan! Great ribs & sauce, as well as walleye. Loved our waitresses! We had to check out the road end for docking next year!
Shocked to receive a “small” wet burrito that was smaller than a child’s meal, made into a folded burrito using a 6” taco shell, for $13.50!!! It was actually less food than the kids meals we purchased for $6.99. It also came with a whopping 6 nacho chips…yes 6, as adult entree! I have NEVER received a meal this small anywhere and was shocked and compelled to question our server. She sent the bartender to our table, who only wanted to argue and then the owner did the same! It was very disappointing experience. This cannot be the first complaint they’ve received on this. When the owner yells at his customers don’t expect them back! :(
Bob and crew hosted a fundraiser for IL Baseball team! It went amazing! His crew fed hundreds of people and gave us all a warm place to have dinner and drinks with the teams who played! Great service and dedication to his community! The easy lake access for the Snow ball tournament is awesome! Way to go Hoppies and crew! You are noticed
