Hop River Motel - Motel in Columbia - 152 Willimantic Rd, USA

Best price in the area, but smelled like raid spray when I walked in, the sheets had coffee stains on them but were clean. Worn out electrical plugs, charming slanted roof like this was a converted wood shed or something means you have to lean over on the low ceiling shower, but it was huge! (Grin). Polite and nice staff. No coffee (big issue)

WARNING: DO NOT ENTER THIS PLACE!! Sleep in your car. You will feel much better in the morning rather than sleeping in this incredibly disgusting and disgraceful motel. I don’t understand how a place such as this is acceptable to the health department and allowed to be opened to the public. The bed smelled like pure urine. Pillows and sheets stained. No actual BLANKET!! There were fluids on the side of the nightstand. The rug was sticky and smelled of pure vomit! Lord knows when they last cleaned it! To top it off they charge $86 bucks and refused to give us a receipt. When complained to the front desk their response was that we get what we paid for! They’re attitude clearly matched the description of the grotesque room. Go figure! 🙄

Worste place to stay. The people that run it do nothing but threaten cops when you demand your money back. 97 dollars in a room not even 5 minutes in a cockroach crawls out of the TV. I have 3 children and need my money for another room they refuse to give me an immediate refund . No sympathy absolutely horrible service. Disgusting rooms. Don't ever stay!!!

Place is dated and got a creepy feel to it

If I could I would of not give them not even 1 star, because this {{HOP RIVER MOTEL}} It’s 1 of the 2 motels that this owner have here in Willimantic C.T. (((SORRYYYY))) but I am honest and will not lie this 2 motels that he own they’re the worst motel I have ever been in my life and I am for real they don’t change their bed clothes if they don’t look dirty they don’t trust me people I had stay there few time and didn’t know it into later on that I worked with them and they told me if the bed doesn’t look dirty and don’t have heard just set it up back 🤦🏻😏😟 that’s nasty cause they don’t know what the guess was doing there before they go to clean those rooms etc….

The owner is one of a kind, never met a nicer Arabian person then this guy. He is very understanding and funny. The place is old, but not necessarily ran down, they keep it clean and well kept. The decor is out of date but it works for a cheap last second stay. Would recommend it for some one on business or "in the dog house" but not for vacation or family matters. Price is reasonable, no deposit and weekly rates are available

Very quiet clean and room was warm already. Not expensive was a little surprised there wasn't movie channel's but having a hot bath 3 in a row plus my husband took a few and a shower without the hot water even getting cool. Def will revisit wish I could give it 10 stars old but well kept almost historical

It was awful. Small room and burn holes everywhere, smelled and if you walk on the carpet without shoes or socks your feet get filthy. I don't know how they are still in business. I have been at a lot of hotels and this is the worst. When I looked out the back window, they were hosing down mattresses. I think the Dept. of Health should get involved.
