Honua Kai Resort & Spa - Hotel in Lahaina - 130 Kai Malina Pkwy, USA

Honua Kai is a great place to stay. The grounds are incredible. The beach was great. And our room was immaculate. Having pool side service from Duke's was also a big plus.

So...location was excellent, some great snorkeling a couple hundred yards down the beach. Not my thing but the pools were great for the kids, plenty of them. Duke's was convenient and food was better than average. The rooms were laid out nicely and the kitchen and w/d were handy. But...we found cockroaches in 2 of our 3 rooms, all rooms had a faint smell of smoke and our room just outright stank. One of the kids said it smelled like used cat litter. Carpets were stained. They cleaned one room for cockroaches and supposedly treated our room for the smell which made no difference. They also have the rooms rigged so the AC shuts off if the balcony doors are left open (to air out the room). Disappointing considering I paid for 3 rooms for 10 days! Recommend for the location - just don't book room 438 (or 444)!

Love this property it's huge has beautiful views, the rooms are spacious has a dishwasher, fullsize refrigerator & a washer & dryer as well. If you decide to stay here you definitely won't be disappointed.

Great Resort Beautiful beach 4 pools. 5 Hot tubs Duke’s Restaurant on the premises A bit expensive but you get what you pay for Unfortunately the people at the front desk are impolite and outright rude. We had 4 Condos and were told they would not be near each other. Even though 2 days prior to our arrival we were told that we would all be together The staff blamed AAA who made the reservations Asked for some compensation but never received anything Not even an apology 7 months have passed since our visit Still no apology It’s a shame. I have been there two times and all together the family has spent well over $40,000 just on rooms that’s forty thousand dollars The front desk employees don’t care about the guests By the way. No cleaning of the rooms even though there is a $40 per night Resort Fee Our first vacation at Honua Kai the two of us had a wonderful experience so we recommended this place to the family. But the second time was a disaster because of the hotel staff Won’t be returning

I first want to admit I was nervous based on some pretty horrific reviews, but now, I'm only so sorry others have not had the experience we have had so far. A few things to make clear up front: No, there is no housekeeping right now. If that's going to make or break your stay in one of the most gorgeous places on this plant, don't come. They have been great with bringing us towels and whatever we need, and I personally love that I don't have people in and out of my room. We have the two bedroom suite with the kitchen, Lanai and there's enough room to sleep four adults and two kids comfortably. The pool and beach are amazing. We've not had any issue finding chairs, but did also rent a casabella a couple of days which has been very worth it. The service by the pool has also been fantastic! Our room is clean with some normal wear and tear of previous guests, but the beds are comfortable and my GOD the view is phenomenal! An amazing place for kids. Couldn't be happier with our decision to stay!

My wife & I shared a 2-bedroom, 2-bath condo @ Honua Kai with my brother & sister-in-law for 8 days in mid-May. We stayed in the North Tower (there was some construction ongoing in the South Tower while we were there, but it didn't affect our stay at all). Our unit was well maintained, spacious, clean & quiet, with a large balcony where we enjoyed several breakfasts & dinners (we were always out & about @ lunchtime). The rental agent (Maui Resort Rentals), was super responsive whenever we had a question or request (I highly recommend them). The property is well-maintained, there are multiple pools & hot tubs, it's located just in front of a beach walk that is a few miles long, it also has good beach access itself & there are numerous restaurants nearby (including Duke's on the Beach, which in addition to serving lunch & dinner, will also serve you drinks around the pool). It was a great place, we had zero issues while we were there & really we enjoyed our stay.

The condo was awesome, but could have had a few additional kitchen tools and prep items like large mixing bowls, a pitcher, and cookie sheets. Otherwise, it's really nice, very clean and comfortable

Maui is still recovering from the Lahaina fire. Some services haven't returned yet. Residents of the area are ready to welcome tourists back to their businesses. These people are very friendly and resilient. Honua Kai Resort is beautiful.
