The view that we had there was amazing. You need to hike around 20-30min through the woods, and also step into the water at some point, but it s worth it. We were alone there and could enjoy the sunset properly.
Really enjoyed this beach. Not many people. Have to hike about 20 mins from the beach park through some beach/water, over lava rock and under trees and such(Sneakers til the beach is a good idea). Good place to swim. Definitely worth the hike.
Heads up! As of April 2023, the local community has been preventing people from parking at Milolii Beach Park to access the trail to Honomalino. It is the only way to get to Honomalino, and the only place to park. And they are right. It is ILLEGAL to park there to access the beach. (Hawaii code R 15-210-13: a14) You could be ticketed. You WILL be stepping on the local fishing villagers' toes. Please respect Hawaii's laws and local communities. Let this park rest peacefully without visitors until public parking is established. ✌️ 🤙
Park at the Miloli'i beach park and look for the black and white trailhead sign across from the little church. Trail traverses some keawe groves (branches with LONG, sharp thorns), so wear thick-soled footwear. Beach is lovely, waves are strong. Good chance you'll only see one or two other groups on the whole beach, and you may just have the whole place to yourself.
Not easily accessible anymore. You have to hike like 25 minutes and through water at times to the beach but the only public parking in the village is the Maloli'i Beach Park. However, locals have started enforcing the no parking law at the beach park. They are completely in the right. There is usually someone stationed who will ticket you if you park there and leave. The rest of the village is private property so there's no other public parking. So you'd have to be dropped off or have someone in your group stay with your car at the beach park. Sad that it's so difficult to visit this beach now but understandable that the locals want their laws to be followed
One of my favorite beaches in the island, but there is no parking for this beach. If you don't have friends that live down here there's just no parking to hike to this beach.
Beautiful beach in a small cove with clear water that is wonderful for swimming and snorkeling. Once you get there, it is picture perfect. The locals are mostly unfriendly and very territorial, posting numerous signs to ward off travelers. The path to the beach, starting by a small church and an outdoor basketball court, took us about 30 minutes. It is an obstacle course. The locals have set up their properties in a way that forces you to walk through tide pools along rocky terrain, so you may get wet on the hike. Some of the walk can be a challenge to less sure footed hikers. Take good footwear; I'd recommend both hiking boots and water shoes. Also, there is no commerce for miles, so bring your own water and something to eat (and take your rubbish with you when you leave). I would not recommend staying past sunset, but if you do, bring a flashlight. Worth it if you're feeling a little adventurous, but the neighborhood is not welcoming.
Way cool! We saw a turtle close to the shore. The black sand was very beautiful! There was even a really cool abandoned resort to explore.
We had such a wonderful experience. The property is off the main road on 40 acres, what we found so striking when we first arrived was the silence. If you are looking for a peaceful quiet surrounding this is the place for you. The breakfast was ama
If you enjoy history this a is a great day. If you enjoy Hawaiian history and culture it doesnât get any more authentic than Puâuhonua. This is a sacred site that served as a sanctuary in old Hawaii for those that were seeking sanctuary or a want
Our hosts are kind and accommodating. The rooms are well equipped and roomy. Great views from the lanai (deck). Daily breakfasts are wonderful with fruits galore and house grown coffee. The road leading to the house is a little tricky, but you get us
My husband and I had a wonderful time staying at the Aloha guesthouse. The rooms are immaculate and the view is stunning. It is conveniently located near Captain cook and all the great snorkeling spots are close by. The property is a 5-acre fruit far
This is my favorite place on the whole island. Itâs super peaceful and incredibly beautiful. It is a great place to just sit and breathe. The garden hosts representation of many statues and icons from various faith beliefs. Itâs very educational
Delicious, gorgeous setting. Wonderful place for casual burgers, fish n chips and tacos. Very reasonably priced. The staff is so very friendly and welcoming! We had some visiting chickens and roosters, great fun for the kids
Elma and Carl were great hosts. My husband, adult daughter, and I stayed in the Palm Suite for 2 nights. The Palm Suite has 2 queen beds, full bathroom, and private lanai. We really enjoyed the lanai. When we checked in, Elma showed us their supply
